  1. He was a slight disappointment last year and hasn't found his footing this year due to injuries. I'm not throwing the baby out with the bath water just yet. He still has time to earn some of that contract back. He's been better than Hanley, Pablo, Rusney, Crawford and Sale extension.
  2. Being an MLB catcher is MUCH MORE than just hitting.
  3. Who cares? Ship him out of town if he's not looking good.
  4. They should have found a better backup 1B/3B IMO. Justin Turner hasn't been great, but I think we all would have been much happier with him instead of Bobby and Garrett Cooper.
  5. He's apparently taking next year off, so he can use all his brainpower now.
  6. He needs to borrow Cutter Coffey's bat.
  7. Good point. Valdez has over 1,000 innings at 3B vs Romy's barely 100 professional innings. I'd still not play either at 3B.
  8. Ref LF/DH O'Neilll RF/DH Rafaela CF Duran LF/CF Abreu LF/RF
  9. 29.2 MLB innings and 87 MiLB innings does not make a quality backup plan for Raffy in case of injury.
  10. Sox really don't have a viable backup 3B if Devers goes down aside from Bobby.
  11. His BABIP last season was 340 with a 33% k rate. If he maintained a 340 BABIP with a 18% k rate, he'd still have really good numbers.
  12. That's why you keep Ceddanne in CF, the RHB.
  13. No matter what he does, it won't be decisive enough for somebody.
  14. They still have 3.5 months left of CONTROL over him and are determined to use it!
  15. Well, when you cut your k rate from 33% to 18%, you'll see your OPS go up. His BABIP is a little high though. If he can maintain a k rate around 20%, that would be an amazing turn around for his offense. A backup catcher that can give you about 800 OPS is pretty valuable IMO.
  16. After 7 HR's in his last 6 games, Cutter Coffey wins the South Atlantic player of the week. I should hope so!
  17. @RedSoxPlayerDev In only his 2nd week in Double-A, Kristian Campbell has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week!
  18. He's a cool dude IMO.
  19. It's worth it depending upon success rate, personnel and matchups. The increase in base size helps somewhat, but I think the pitch clock and limitations on pitchers throwing to 1b had a bigger impact.
  20. I think Romy is less than that. He was pretty dreadful last season in MLB.
  21. I would do it even if they were just playing mediocre. I want Grissom to reach his ceiling. Throwing him back to the fire after another injury is just another setback for him. Give him a little bit of a break and maybe he can be ready to go in August.
  22. If the Sox dump him, it's telling the players there is no playoff run. We'd see the tank job right after same as we did last year.
  23. Westbrook seems a perfectly serviceable AAAA guy, same as Romy.
  24. I think I'd want Grissom to have time to actually succeed in AAA for a couple of weeks before calling him up. He still has options remaining. No reason to rush him next go around.
