  1. I think so because I believe Whitlock will be in the pen going forward. Pivetta will be gone. Fitts may not be the #5 starter, but he would be one of the first guys up in case of injury.
  2. The Salem team was a lot of fun early in the season when both brothers were playing at the same time. Jhostynxon is definitely a top 30 prospect in this system if not top 20. Too undervalued at 33 IMO.
  3. And yet you want to get rid of Pivetta AND Dalbec. Interesting.....
  4. Weekday getaway games 2024 at home: 5/2 - day game 5/16 - night game (at STL next day) 6/5 - day game 6/26 - night game (day off next day) Not a getaway day for Sox? 7/31 - late afternoon game 4:30 (day off next day) 8/14 - night game (at BAL next day) 8/29 - night game (at DET next day) 9/11 - night game (at NYY next day)
  5. Dengar has amounted a lot of fWAR over the years, but he's really past his prime at this point.
  6. Horn called up to replace Campbell. Wong is back from paternity leave.
  7. FOR! He was made that all the getaway games were late. He wanted early travel days.
  8. I can't believe the signed IG-88.
  9. Are the Jays giving up on this year or the next 3 years?
  10. Gotta play all the old hits from time to time. Pokemon Go to the polls!
  11. @SamDykstraMiLB Here's one for #Nats fans: Aldo Ramirez has joined Single-A Fredericksburg on a rehab assignment. The right-hander was acquired for Kyle Schwarber in July 2021, underwent TJ in 2022 and has yet to pitch for a Washington full-season club ... until now.
  12. Right, after. I think he had strong value which is why the deal got done. The question was specifically ranked prospects.
  13. 4 more years or lock him up?
  14. Which of these contracts is a bloated contract?
  15. You read those posts?
  16. Moncada and Kopech were traded December 2016. Not sure Kopech popped high on lists as a prospect until 2017.
  17. Back then it was true. They have fundamentally changed that dynamic by getting rid of short season and reducing the amount of players allowed in an organization.
  18. At the time of the trade, Devers had only gotten as far as Salem. I don't think DD had seen Devers at the point.
  19. Which two? Career bWAR: Benintendi - 14.2, 958 Games Moncada - 14.5, 746 Games
  20. He looked good for one season. The fall off was rough. He kept changing with his swing in part due to various injuries. There has been cause for concern. I don't really see "Yorke hate" that notin mentioned. I think it's ok to talk about the faults of various prospects and the likelihood that they get traded prior to Rule 5 drafts. I'm glad that he's turning things around in AAA, but he'll need to do it over a longer time period that a few weeks to really reclaim his value.
  21. Bloated contract deals... That's a horse of a different color. I'll leave that one for moon.
  22. How often are there afternoon games at Fenway during the week? This was a huge point of contention for AGon.
  23. 2016: Moncada, Espinoza, Benintendi
  24. I was just stating why people are skeptical. Over two straight years of mediocre production from what was supposed to be a top prospect whose main tool was his hit tool. I'm not stating he's never done it or can't do it in the future.
  25. 2023: “There were conversations between Chaim and some players, talking about what they thought was needed,” Cora said. “At this time, everybody is a GM, right? I read quotes that we need an arm, I read quotes that we need offensive players. That’s part of it. … At the end of the day, this is where we’re at. “This is the team that we have, and there’s some good news coming up. Chris [sale] throwing yesterday, Trevor [story] is playing a day game after a night game today, we’re excited about that. They’ve got to do their job in the end, that’s the most important thing.” 2022: “Well, I mean, it’s like on New Year’s Eve, 3, 2, 1, fireworks. We get a phone call [that the Deadline is past] and here we go. There’s a lot of excitement,” Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Tuesday. “For how down we were yesterday, there’s a lot of people excited in the clubhouse about keeping some of these guys to make a push. We trust the team. We trust this group. Been there, done that, and now we’ve just got to play good baseball for two and a half months.” Alex Cora is a company man. He wasn't throwing anyone under the bus or really speaking out directly on anything.
