  1. They probably won't get it done this year, but I've been happy enough with the season in comparison to the nonsense we've seen in recent years. Having a strong farm and signs of life from young guys on the MLB squad makes me feel much more positive about where the org is at.
  2. I'm surprised it wasn't this team that gave you a heart attack.
  3. This job isn't busy enough for a third. Back when I first joined the board, that job needed all 3.
  4. The Sox were 64-58 and 2.5 games back from 3 WC TOR on 8/19/23. They then went 14-26 the rest of the way (9-23 from 8/27 on). They are currently 65-58 and hoping they don't go 13-26. We've seen this dance before!
  5. To be out of the WC with 9 to go, they'd have to really fall apart. I think this team is a little different than what we saw out of the previous two versions. I could be wrong though...
  6. If it's starts off bad, it'll end bad. He won't have much time to turn it around because it's already 8/19 and there's no sign of him rehabbing at WOO yet.
  7. He was only 3.5M this year. That's not a big enough chunk of change to worry about moving midseason.
  8. You have never been to an Ace Hardware!
  9. Campbell was promoted to WOO.
  10. Anyway, moon, I will continue to browse your well thought out thread, but it's way too early for me to think about the offseason. Would trading Campbell this offseason be selling high? He's a player without a fulltime position. Scouts are finally starting to come around on him though. He's a RHB in a system of LHB. Trading Sale was a pretty bold move that didn't work out. Aside from that, Breslow didn't really make any waves last offseason. Dealing malcontent Verdugo made too much sense. With this FO and the financial constraints since letting Mookie go, it's hard to really forecast what the Sox will do.
  11. Where has harmony been? And does he still believe that Kelenic is as good as Duran?
  12. I'll go out on a limb and say he returns on 9/20 for the Twins series and gets in 8 of the final 9 games. Starts the season with 8 games and finishes the season with 8 more. Is that kismet? Sox should still be in it at that point, so it'll probably be all hands on deck. His k% will go back above 35% and he sneaks in one HR.
  13. For me, it's just more ways I can mess something up in the title of a post! I needed to put MLB.com on a second screen to make sure I got it right.
  14. Unfortunately, Mayer isn't the healthiest player either, but he's healthier than his buddy Romero.
  15. Gasper hits pretty well and has mediocre utility. Heineman may be ARB 1, but he's a 33 year old journeyman catcher. Neither guy would be a big loss if they left the organization. Breslow brought in loads of catchers last offseason. I bet he does something similar this year. Being a former pitcher, I think he values that position higher than we have in the past.
  16. LOL, adding in trash doesn't help a trade typically.
  17. Maybe even NASCAR.
  18. Ok, I missed that. I think Heineman is DFA'd this offseason. Not sure he'll be an option for 2025.
  19. When the game is less than half the screen, what's the point? It's not surprising considering Werner thinks this is just a tv show. At least we are still stuck with Sox Appeal during the games.
  20. He has been with the team all season and typically sits by Cora. I think it would be a nice morale booster for the Sox considering how much time he spent in the offseason working with the other guys. He took a long time to rehab last year so it's really hard to say if he'll make it back in time. Maybe the last week or two? Maybe?
  21. I liked how Brock titled the past few Game Threads and it seemed to help with the MOJO. Houck went 6IP, 1ER, 4H, 3BB, 1K two starts ago vs HOU. The last time Kikuchi (LHP) faced the Sox, he was still with TOR. On 6/17: 4IP, 5ER, 7H, 0BB, 7K, 4HR.
  22. This year? Maybe not. Next year? Depends on if Anthony, Mayer and Teel figure out MLB pitching.
  23. Chang was only 30 G? Seems like it was longer than that!
  24. Just give them an Ove Glove. Problem solved!
