    The last time Criswell faced the O's: 4IP, 7 ER. This is his first start in almost a month. Burnes vs the Sox this year: 14 IP, 1 ER, 11 K, 5 BB, 5 H, 0.714 WHIP. Sox on Friday Nights in 2024: 6-14.

    The popular podcasts are: Section 10 (not analytical, but most popular and are having their own Fenway Night coming up) The Pesky Report (some prospect, some MLB) Pod by the River (mostly MLB, good if you want Sox version of Frank the Tank) Play Tessie (Red Sox jouralist nepobaby podcast) Not Another Sox Podcast Pod on Landsdowne Beyond the Monster Even if you don't listen to them all (I don't), the hosts are good follows on Twitter.

    A lot of inexperienced guys that have been asked to pitch differently than they have ever had to before. If the emphasis is "throw strikes," there is more of a tendency to leave a pitch over the middle than if a guy is nibbling and is tired IMO.

    Some scouts like him a lot, some scouts are very dubious on his hitting potential. Therefore, he doesn't have Yount or Kaline's ceiling.

    They had the number 1 pick, all the guys they wanted to sign just wanted to pull an Eli Manning. It's why you don't fire your CBO/GM/Pres of Baseball Ops every few years when you get a wild hair up your ass even though you are never around the team.

    It's not the pitches, it's the location. If the pitch is middle/middle, it's going a long way. The arms are just tired and they can't locate anymore.

    His 3.82 ERA over that timeframe is what you're trying to highlight? 1.2 HR/9 that was twice as high as 2018?

    He was clearly not 100% at the end of the year. Prior to the injury, he averaged 6.1 per start. The longest he went after was 5.1 in 7 tries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was clearly injured.
