  1. Since May 1st: 1.03 ERA 1.77 FIP 463 OPSa
  2. Clearly it's about Rafaela.
  3. Field: After spending most of his career at shortstop, moved to third base in August 2022 in what appears to be a full-time transition off of short, or close to it. Was inconsistent defensively at shortstop. Would flash soft hands and fluid actions in the field, but also would also miss a routine play. At third base, he shows average range, but is a little stiff and upright in the field. Looks more comfortable at third base than shortstop. Bad decision-making also leads to errors on plays where he would be better suited to just hold the ball. Potential average defender at third base. He was still 21 when they transitioned him off SS. Maybe they just saw the writing on the wall with Mayer, Paulino and others in the system and wanted to relieve the logjam? They haven't really mentioned his OF defense. The next podcast should be interesting.
  4. Campbell completely deserves it. He's been great and his position diversity will allow him a quicker track to the bigs. I agree about Meidroth. ERnoC may pass Wikelman next month. Jordan and Yorke falling is just sad for that draft class.
  5. Well, I think there just isn't a real big difference between a lot of these guys. The rankings are really squishy as guys can move up and down. I think once you get to the top 10 or so, it's a little more solid. I don't think the difference between Arias at 21 and Jhostynxon at 33 isn't really anything at all. It's a judgement call. Also, he was probably pushed to low last season. They held onto Jimenez as a top guy for too long. I think they overcorrected with Lugo by pushing him out of the top 60.
  6. Perales is deserving of the 4 spot IMO. He's dominated this year. Bleis has been just fine, but hasn't really had the performance that pops out at you. Cespedes doesn't seem to have a position yet.
  7. The Lugo jump is crazy. He's having a good year, but c'mon. He's OF only now. I wonder what the metrics are pointing to?
  8. ChiSox have lost 14 in a row. They are due to turn it around!
  9. I'm surprised, but not surprised the SoxProspect faves Sandlin and Castro didn't fall a little in the latest ranking. I think they are both a little too high. I'd put Sandlin at 13 after Lugo and Castro at 16 after Rodriguez.
  10. So much for his anti-BOS bias.
  11. SoxProspects update: Graduated Justin Slaten (12) Cam Booser (42) Debuts Ovis Portes at 29 Jojo Ingrassia at 48 Bailey Horn at 49 Max Carlson at 53 Andruw Musett at 54 Notable Risers Kristian Campbell from 20 to 10 Matthew Lugo from 50 to 13 Zach Penrod from 29 to 22 Connelly Early from 33 to 26 Hayden Mullins from 40 to 32 Nelly Taylor from 51 to 38 Notable Fallers Wikelman Gonzalez from 7 to 14 Nathan Hickey from 19 to 27 Antonio Anderson from 26 to 37 Alex Hoppe from 30 to 41 Dalton Rogers from 37 to 47 Christopher Troye from 41 to 50 Mario Alcantara from 34 to 60

  13. Yeah, we're all waiting.
  14. Niko's OPS is going the wrong direction the last 15 games or so.
  15. Team would have been so much better with Story's defense at short even if Casas was out with injury. That one simple fix would have made a big difference.
  16. I didn't realize how horrible Troye had been pitching. Seems like Alcantara will never hit. Shame. I never noticed the arrows before. Thank you for pointing them out.
  17. Do they drop Castro or Hickey at all? Bastardo falls? Hoppe? Penrod maybe gets pushed up?
  18. To have him jump to #20 or higher is wild IMO. I want to hear what they think has change with them. Not just blah blah blah isn't linear... Antonio Anderson drops 30?
  19. Pitchers in AAA aren't as good as they are in MLB.
  20. @OverTheMonster Craig Breslow Vows to Pick a Lane at Trade Deadline In each of the past two seasons, the Red Sox approached the trade deadline with records that were more or less right around .500. This led to some confusing moves by former chief Chaim Bloom, who seemed to struggle with the choice to either push for the postseason or build for the future. This year, the Sox will likely again be right around .500, but new chief Craig Breslow hopes to avoid the muddy path that Bloom took, saying that, while they haven’t yet decided on what path they’ll take, the Sox plan to “pick a lane” this time.
  21. Draft: Drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 4th round of the 1981 MLB January Draft-Regular Phase from Miami Dade College (Miami, FL), the Texas Rangers in the 2nd round of the 1981 MLB June Draft-Secondary Phase from Miami Dade College (Miami, FL), the New York Yankees in the 1st round (9th) of the 1982 MLB January Draft-Secondary Phase from Miami Dade College (Miami, FL), the Toronto Blue Jays in the 5th round of the 1982 MLB June Draft-Secondary Phase from Miami Dade College (Miami, FL), the Minnesota Twins in the 1st round (1st) of the 1983 MLB June Draft-Secondary Phase from Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ) and the Texas Rangers in the 1st round (12th) of the 1984 MLB June Amateur Draft from Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ).
  22. @SamDykstraMiLB Matthew Lugo's second Triple-A homer left the bat at 111.2 mph and went 428 feet. That's the second-highest exit velocity on a @WooSox homer this season (Mark Kolozsvary, 112.2). Only Triston Casas (111.9) has hit a homer harder for the #RedSox in 2024.
  23. Breslow spoke on the @BNightengale report about the Red Sox being determined to deal Kenley Jansen: “I don’t actually know where that came from… I would not say anything with certainty right now. We’ve got plenty of baseball left.”
  24. Not sure Chase has hit many balls 100 mph.
