    Considering all the LHB the org has, if Sikes peaks as a platoon bat on the MLB bench, that's probably maxing out the 18th rounder's ceiling. His glove is passable in CF/RF so he may have a future as a roleplayer. I know SoxProspects were intrigued by him going into 2023, but I think his shine faded a little bit and he'll be 26 next April.

    David Peterson is a LHP. Asking for 1 run seems like a lot.

    Hendriks hasn't been a productive reliever since '22 and will be 36 next season. They can't rely on him to be the closer. Even hoping Story is the Opening Day SS is foolish IMO.

    6 top 100 prospects is pretty good. Too bad Perales is injured. I'm not sure Arias should be ranked that high, but maybe that's just me.

    1. They need a cheap glove first SS not named Rafaela to bridge the gap until Mayer is ready. 2. Story can go into the 2B mix as they can't rely on him going forward. 3. They need to acquire legit TOTR SPing via trade and FA (a #1 and another middle rotation guy). 4. They need to replace/re-sign Jansen. 5. Continue to work on extensions for young players that you want to build around (Casas, guys still in MiLB, Duran, whoever).

Losing Shaw wasn't seen as a big deal since they had Devers marching through the system (MLB debut at '17 deadline) and still had Holt on the roster. The ended up going with Marrero/Sandoval/Rutledge until Devers was ready, which was not exactly ideal.

    They are putting a lot of pressure on some guys that just may never pan out whether due to injury or otherwise. I don't know why Henry believes he shouldn't have to spend anymore, but here we are.

    They weren't setup to be in it from day one. They made a good effort, but they didn't have the horses pitching-wise.

    I don't see him replicating his early season run again. He reminds me of a Nate Eovaldi type. He's a guy that can push it to be a near TOTR guy for small stretches, but really peaks at a 2 if things are going well. A lot of volatility though.

    The issue is that acquiring guys at the deadline is very expensive prospect wise and JH only wants to grow this team through prospects rather than financial leverage. It's easier to make trades in the offseason when the price isn't being driven up by teams pushing for the postseason. We'll see if he's able to do it then or not. Last year, it was or not.

    With all this losing over the past 11 games, they've gone from 4 games back in the WC to 4.5 back. Unbelievable!

    The Verdugo trade was really good. That could have gone very bad. Slaten was good. I think his instincts aren't terrible. He's just inexperienced and has JH for an owner. I understand why people want to give him an F- though.

    You can tell the effort they put in by what they do in the offseason. Being the "interest kings" isn't really doing all that they can. I'm sure the CBO would love to acquire top tier talent. Hard to do so when you are handcuffed. I think he new the restrictions when he took the job though.

    Paxton wasn't much of a swing at all. Garcia pitched well for the Halos before the deal. Sims had good peripherals. It was an ok deadline, but nothing special. Better than '22 or '23 for the MLB team.

    To me, a first year CBO wasn't going to be hitting 450' moonshots from day one. We're in this mess because of ownership. Breslow is going to have to grow into this role.

    I just think I had reasonable expectations. It didn't seem like a playoff roster. If the owner isn't letting the CBO go over the CBT as he's holding the org up for the youth movement to show up, I don't know how much you are going to get out of the MLB squad. I've been down on the Sox outlook since the Mookie trade.

    Criswell hasn’t gone 5 innings since July. He’s not a 100 pitch guy. He’s Cooper Criswell.

    Then Criswell comes out in the 5th and predictably gives up the game anyway and people complain about that.
