  1. I liked Meidroth when he was in the org. I was higher on him than SoxProspects was. Thought he could at least be a good UTIL guy for them since the Red Sox didn't see him as a starter.
  2. I've said all along that Contreras would have a higher fWAR at the end of the year. 1.8 to 1.3 as of today.
  3. BOS as a team has a 348 OBP over the past 15 days. 15 day OBP Duran 400 (6 HR's in that timeframe) IKF 475 Contreras 468 Gasper 393 Wong 385
  4. So it's better that they traded him away then!
  5. Mayer actually has a better K-BB rate this season than Meidroth and hits the ball harder. Once he figures it out, it won't be close.
  6. I can't fault Contreras for not having runners on ahead of him to knock in.
  7. Happy Birthday to Sox Legends: Carl Everett, Luis Urias, Duane Josephson, Steve "Psycho" Lyons, Urbane Pickering, Julio Valdez, Chappie Geygan
  8. Development is not linear. They have already invested heavily in Campbell and believe Marcelo is worth more than Ketel Marte. Let's see where they are in a few years rather than relying on faulty ZiPS (who projects Contreras to only have 13 HR's this season and 1.7 fWAR and he already has 11 and 1.8).
  9. Cool. Contreras has better numbers right now! Batting Average OBP SLG max EV Barrel % xwOBA Pull AIR %
  10. 1-2 this series for the 2026 Sox at Fenway just like every other series.
  11. Oh, does ZiPS use ceiling when they do their projections or no? That's what I'm basing this on. If Meidroth is providing less than 2 fWAR over the next 3 seasons, I'm not worried about losing him anyway. Get outta here SEAboy.
  12. Maybe? I think KC was in the Teel tier TBH. Don't think the Sox wanted to give up 2 of the big 4.
  13. Give me Contreras's spray chart at Fenway over Alonso's. If they were going to move Alonso to DH, sign me up.
  14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhM4y9L9PnQ Jo Adell did a Jose Canseco in RF. Doink...
  15. Yeah, the trade would have been KC instead of Teel, not KC/Montgomery/Teel.
  16. I'd rather have Campbell or Mayer than Meidroth. Meidroth is a fine player, but has a limited ceiling. He's a guy you can go out and get fairly easily. There are still higher hopes for Campbell and Mayer.
  17. Baylor's 35 HBP in '86 is the second most for a single season in the modern era. Ron Hunt was hit 50 times in 1971 (led MLB from 68-73 in HBP's).
  18. Baylor could take one in the numbers for sure. I didn't realize he was 4th all time in HBP.
  19. Gasper has always hit at AAA so it's nice to see him have a good MLB stretch. I wasn't sure how he'd look at C, but it's been fine enough.
  20. Getting to 81 wins isn't impossible, but the longer they continue to play uninspiring baseball, the harder it is to make it up in the standings. Being completely inept at home is not acceptable.
  21. 2nd Half addition secured!
  22. Per Bradford, the Sox are practicing ABS challenges today. I guess since they are last in the league in total challenges, it's about time.
