  1. The top of the order definitely needs that one extra guy. Even having Contreras as the best bat feels a little light. I think he's a great player, but more some of all parts.
  2. He would definitely have more RBI hitting 3rd.
  3. There's a funk and it's much easier to change out a few coaches than it is a few MLB players.
  4. Story also has the worst clutch score on the team, doing all the damage when the Sox are either ahead or the game is out of reach. 🫠
  5. Anthony's OPS would go even higher by not being the first batter of the game (a skill he's horrible at).
  6. Lefty going tonight so you knew IKF was gonna start. 😽
  7. 7.03(b) "A game shall be forfeited to the opposing team when a team is unable or refuses to place nine players on the field."
  8. Gasper and Delay both haven't done all that much with their MLB experience. If people believe in Narvaez's glove, you stick with him. If Wong is hitting, there isn't room for another catcher.
  9. I think Contreras/Suarez/Gray were deals for high quality players. Oviedo was an upside play. Durbin was a musical chairs deal. Brewers were the last team available he could trade with.
  10. But that's why it was "unrealistic." It's the same way people said over and over that trading Masa last offseason was unrealistic because Henry wouldn't eat that much salary.
  11. Cheng has been hitting very poorly over the past 8 games (since hitting for the cycle). Call him up and he'll do even worse. Arias has 5 HR's in his last 6 games. If you want a hot hand, you'd be calling the wrong guy up by bringing up Cheng.
  12. His best year was '23 when he used all fields. He's not going oppo enough.
  13. I'd do a lopsided deal to get the BoSox a great player. I don't think Breslow would.
  14. It's not realistic because BRESLOW wouldn't have given up the amount of assets required to do the deal. All of us on here can come up with a trade package, but it's most likely something that he's not comfortable with. Also, if they were going to trade for Neto, it should have been at the start of the offseason when the better assets were on hand. It makes that trade a lot easier to accomplish rather than after Contreras/Gray/Oviedo/etc.
  15. Trade surplus for a need. You don't have to win every trade. Just make your team better.
  16. The one FA I liked was Woodruff. He's been decent, but isn't generating any whiffs. Not sure if he really wanted to leave the Brew Crew either. Thought the Sox should have gone after Ozuna too as a cheap DH/platoon bat. 😶‍🌫️
  17. It wasn't a good FA class. I would have liked signing Schwarber back in '22 and then building DH around him from then on. Right now, the roster is a mess and there is an inability to deal with it so signing him didn't make sense.
  18. If posters keep saying that the Sox have Duran for 4 years, maybe there will be wish fulfillment eventually.
  19. But the Sox would never do those moves @mvp 78!
