    The bonus pool is counted based on the first 10 rounds. Rounds 11 and higher can sign for up to 150k without it counting towards the pool. Only amounts over that 150k threshold goes towards the pool. Per Mike Andrews at SoxProspects: Cap + 5% $8,630,160 Sox spend: $8,622,500 Amount under cap: $7,660

    I disagree. If you are signing them, you are getting the initial few seasons where their production is at its peak and NOT giving up assets. Once you are trading for the player later on, it's just diminishing returns.

    Offing was a backup just in case one of the other HS guys didn't sign. They aren't signing him and weren't expecting to. Bruml said "something came up" with one of the other guys. That must be Frey. Guess he's not going to sign. Don't know if it's personal preference or medical. Hasn't been disclosed.

    I don't think the Royals are interested in trading their franchise player. We can see personally how trading Betts affected our franchise and the impact it had on our fanbase. Also, an 8 for 1 deal may look good on paper, but lower level prospects don't hit the mark the way a smaller deal can. At some point, you're just shoveling a bunch of mediocre talent into a trade to make it work in BTV or whatever. Royals would want high level talent that is MLB ready. Aside from Eyanson and Arias, the Sox don't really have that. Guys in A ball and lower are just lottery tickets that miss more often than not.

    Lindor's skillset may not age the same way as Schwarber's or Alonso's. David Ortiz was productive into his age 40 season because he didn't need to do anything but hit HR and know the k zone. Bregman and Lindor rely on other skills that don't age as gracefully.
