    Abreu has more WAR than Duran or Rafaela, but is a backup. Ok? I guess we're doing jumping jacks for Duran's career 628 OPS vs LHP too? Jarren Duran WAS an All Star. He won't be an All Star this year and from the looks of it, he won't ever be again. At least Scott Cooper was an All Star twice.

    To say that pitching is the reason why runs are down is so weird. Hitting has also been given a lot of upgrades (better equipment, preparation, parks). If offense is down, maybe they are doing something wrong?!?!?

    Story has a 874 OPS vs LHP, but I have more confidence in Sogard right now.

    Duran doesn't hit LHP very well. Platoon with Rafaela and call up Anthony.

    Just because MLB is selling out for power right now doesn't mean it's the best way to play baseball. There were fewer games played in 1979 and more runs were scored per game back then than today. Back then it was about contact hitting, getting on base, moving runners over and was overall a more exciting game to watch. I don't think many of us on here are worried about being left behind. Our beliefs have evolved over time and will continue to do so.

    Roman LF Rafaela 2B in this lineup Sox need to sit somebody and Duran is Cora's boy. Seems unlikely, but I'd be looking towards moving on from him.

    Sox are 7th in runs with a black hole at cleanup. IDK. If Bregman hit 4th instead of 3rd, I'm not sure they rise further in the rankings.

    He's been hurt multiple times. Last year, Cora vented that it was taking him too long to come back from WOO. He does his own workout routine and doesn't follow Red Sox direction. It hasn't really helped his career either. Promoted in 2022, he's only earned 2.1 fWAR. He's an iconoclast and that doesn't work for the Boston Red Sox. He's not a guy you can count on or build around. He's shown he's more likely to be out or unproductive than a valuable member of the team.

    The OF being crowded isn't the worst problem in the world. However, with the Sox not meeting expectations, I believe out of the box thinking could get Anthony on the squad. He has a higher ceiling than Duran, Rafaela or Abreu.

    If a hitter is near the top of chances with runners on base, they'd likely be near the top in RBI AND leaving runners on. As all old school ballplayers say "it's a game of failure where you succeed only 30% of the time." We've already mentioned the Sox have the worst cleanup numbers in the league.
