  1. Make good deals at the trade deadline and you can get hot? What a surprise!
  2. I don't want Toro on the roster and have said so many times. I also don't want Campbell on the roster because I want him working on his defense and really spending time learning what makes his hitting work while in AAA. They can't rush him back to MLB. I'd rather keep him down until '26.
  3. Sweeper is just what they are calling a slower slider TBF if a guy has two velo bands for a slider. According to AI, Chapman throws a 105.1 mph curveball! 🤖🔫 I cursory search found a youtube video of Joe Kelly throwing a 90 mph curveball. It's possible.
  4. Pedro should have won at least one of those games...
  5. SD is a 100 wRC+ team. They are perfectly average. Hard to call them weak. I would not be surprised if Gio starts to fall back to earth. I'm hopeful that Bello can still pitch well down the stretch.
  6. Campbell: 36.1% backwards K Toro: 23.1% backwards K Campbell is MORE likely to watch a third strike go by. 🫠
  7. O'Hearn AND Laureano got Padres 6, 8, 16th prospects and 3 other prospects. Hard to say what O'Hearn gets on his own. Padres have a bad farm system after the very top so those numbers could be knocked down for a stronger system like the Sox. Josh Naylor got the Mariners 13 and 16th ranked prospects. Mariners have a very strong farm system.
  8. Campbell has a higher k rate in AAA than Toro has in MLB. You think Campbell would have been LESS likely to k in that PA though?
  9. Team leader in bunt hits by year: '24 Wong - 4 '23 McGuire/Reyes - 2 '22 Duran - 2 '21 4 players had 1 '20 Beni/JBJ - 1 '19 Marco Hernandez - 2 '18 Brock Holt - 2 '17 Leon - 3 '13 Victorino - 7 '07 Lugo - 9 '04 5 players had 1 '99 Offerman - 3 '88 Barrett/Burks - 3 (1st year with info on bref)
  10. Feel good about tonight. Relying on May and Buehler to take a series doesn't give me a wonderful feeling, but baseball is weird sometimes. Sox have been bad on the road so a 2-4 road trip wouldn't be entirely shocking here. 3-3 would be better!
  11. Hamilton doesn't know how to for sure.
  12. Sox are 6-3 in extras at home. I think there's just an advantage for the home team with the new dumb rules. They are 3-3 in 9th inning walkoffs.
  13. 25 - most errors in MLB 24 - 2nd most errors in MLB 23 - 2nd most errors in MLB 22 - 14th most errors in MLB 21 - 2nd most errors in MLB 20 - 3rd most errors in MLB 20-25: most errors in MLB by 43! (teams behind them MIA, WSH, CHW the real garbage teams) Sugarcoat it all you want, but the errors do matter. They need to clean it up if they want to have a deep run in the playoffs. Their overall DRS/OAA numbers are carried by a select few players and playing one of them out of position is completely stupid. It takes them from a top 5 DRS team to a middle of the pack DRS team.
  14. He reached on a force out or stole 3b? Weird!
  15. I don't know what he was trying to do there. After years of wanting Bloom to make some moves, Breslow went out and made a horrific one right off the bat. A lot of us were desperate to root for him at that point.
  16. Letting Derek Lowe leave was dumb though! I'm not going to get involved with the 20/20 hindsight stuff and whatever.
  17. Lucas Sims '22 9.45 ERA, 5.87 xFIP '23 3.10 ERA, 5.53 xFIP '24 4.38 ERA, 5.33 xFIP '25 13.86 ERA, 7.69 xFIP This is a guy we're trading for and relying on for meaningful innings? Paxton hadn't been able to stay healthy. That he dropped dead after signing here was the least surprising thing ever. Sox couldn't trade him in '23 because he got injured before the deadline. It's like relying on a Cybertruck to take you on the Oregon Trail. Garcia was a low leverage guy and had some bad luck. Jansen was a backup catcher with a waning bat. These are four guys that aren't going to light a fire under your team and push you through a stretch run. They are the definition of mediocre.
  18. Yeah, thanks for trying! Great job out there! Everyone gets a trophy now! 🏆👨‍💼
  19. Campbell has a 794 OPS in AAA right now. Can't say that's good enough to demand a callup with his horrid defense. Mayer was called up because he's a good defender and the Sox had a defensive need. Abraham Toro was hitting 883 in AAA this season. Until Campbell can clear that mark, he can stay down there and work on his terrible defense.
  20. Got hurt by bad defense. Guess you didn't watch?
  21. Mookie used to let a lot of middle middle strikes go by at times too. Roman has always had a very patient approach. He'll figure it out.
  22. YES! He has games started incentives in his contract. Games Started $500,000 each for 20, 22, 24, 26, 28
  23. Top 3? He has the same SB% as Sal Frelick in 25. Worse than Josh Naylor in 24-25. We did see him and his dumb oven mitt come off the bag this series.
  24. Garcia and Campbell should spend the remainder of '25 in AAA mashing and working on defense. No reason to force them into part time positions and potentially struggle down the stretch.
  25. He's over the 1st CBT right now. I think he was over the 2nd with Devers. We'll see how it shakes out next year with all the $$$ coming off the books. To me, winning is more important than payroll and 20, 22-24 were no fun.
