  1. Something like this is an indictment on coaching to me. Has something changed on his swing? What's happened to the approach?
  2. Have they ever been? On here it's been either green font or overt usage of emoticons. Elsewhere you may see /s. You must post in some rough neighborhoods to be that underground! I'll add it to my list!
  3. In theory, Breslow did predict an injury as he didn't go large AND long on the contract. Bregman wanted 6 or 7 years.
  4. Cora this morning: “We’re always aggressive talking about mistakes, it’s not like we let them go by, we just have to pick and choose when, understanding the players,” Cora said, using someone forgetting how many outs there are as an example. “What are we going to do? When they come back be like ‘hey you have to pay attention to the scoreboard! You forgot the outs!’ They frickin’ know they forgot the outs. You tell them ‘hey be on top of it, let’s go.'” Cora also noted that this year’s team being so young also makes for a different dynamic compared to his first season in 2018, when the majority of the roster was comprised of established veterans. “The only guy that was young on that team was (Rafael Devers). The other guys were veterans, so you manage that one differently,” Cora said. “People are going to say ‘oh he can only manage a veteran team and win it,’ yeah, maybe? I don’t know. Shoot. But it’s different, a lot different, you have to teach the game, you have to be in constant communication about situations.” Cora said that working with guys like Jarren Duran, Triston Casas, and more recently Ceddanne Rafaela — all of whom endured early-career struggles — has helped teach him the importance of patience and composure when it comes to managing young players. “You have to be level. When things are going great don’t get too high, when things are going bad don’t get too low, especially in that dugout,” Cora said. “A lot of people are watching, especially the players. It’s like when you take your kids to the field and they don’t make a play, the first person they’re going to look at is dad. And if you’re upset that leaves a mark to your kids. So you better be there, be smiling, ‘come on kid you can do it,’ and inside you’re like come on man make that play. It’s the same thing. You’ve got to help them out. We’re here to help them out.” But while he stands by his approach, Cora acknowledged that the team’s performance ultimately falls on him and that some kind of adjustments will have to be made. “We get frustrated with the results but you have to trust the process, and right now I don’t know if the process is good, because we’re not seeing the results,” Cora said. “Maybe we have to change the process, and that’s on us, that’s on me.” He's looking at this team like it's a little league team. That's what he thinks of this roster.
  5. DD wasn't going to stay if they wouldn't re-sign Mookie. Therefore, no more DD.
  6. That dang green goober Wally! Someone take the phone away from him and kick him out of LF in the offseason.
  7. 1.2 They are going to keep giving this guy starts, but I don't think they should. Crochet Buehler Bello Dobbins Fitts
  8. Are you going to start yelling about Mayer's 540 OPS at some point? Is he ready enough for you?
  9. If they do that, it would make the Sox CBO job, the most toxic FO job in professional sports.
  10. I'm not so sure they'd make a move this offseason concerning Cora. He has plot armor. Maybe if they retool this offseason and the team still stinks up the joint next year. I did say there was a chance they were going to punt on this season prior to them signing Bregman. Without him in the lineup, it's kinda what it looks like!
  11. The first 6 batters get on. Rafaela decides to swing at 3 straight and K. 😎
  12. He's not getting rusty. He's playing every day. He's just nowhere near good enough to be called up on this team. He's not even a AAAA guy (727 OPS). His OBP is worse this year than it was last year when he was struggling with an injury.
  13. That idiot Pythagoras has them at 33-30 right now. What does he know? Togas are dumb.
  14. They are 13th in runs scored since May 1st. Like the rotation in 2024, the offense's reputation is getting by on what they did in April, but it won't last.
  15. No idea. We clearly overstated what he was going to bring to the table.
  16. It's the first year of his extension, there's no way he's getting fired. Breslow was the only guy, aside from Cora, that was willing to take the CBO job. If they fired Breslow, NOBODY would send their resumé in. It'd be worse than the 10 no's they got last time. They are stuck with Breslow through his contract and maybe longer. This is a cultural mess created by JH and everyone else at FSG. 👎 The only thing they can do for the next few years is churn through the roster and replace the lower level coaches.
  17. They called up Mayer in the middle of a double header. No reason to wait at this point. Shake things up! Or stop pretending that you're trying to go for it this year.
  18. I was hopeful that bringing a guy like Bregman would get them to learn how to create a winning culture. Guess not.
