  1. I hope they do better than that. I would like Farrell and Pablo to surprise everyone this year.
  2. But we traded Lester for Cesedes for Porcello. When you take into account the package we gave up AND THAT THERE WAS NO REASON TO EXTEND HIM BEFORE HIS FIRST K OF THE SEASON, it was an overpay.
  3. Well, 85-89 is where most of us picked them to finish.
  4. @iamjoonlee Travis Shaw has been unreal this spring but: Jackie Bradley Jr. Spring Training ’13: .419/.507/.613 Shaw Spring Training ’16: .419/.455/.677
  5. They werrn't competitive in 2012, 2014 or 2015.
  6. Elias will be the 5th starter on opening day.
  7. If you dump Pablo, it's because you have a viable replacement (Shaw?) or are able to bring back a piece to help somewhere else (Shields?).
  8. All the evidence in the world couldn't cool jung's takes.
  9. I realize this, but none of us really know how much they can afford. It's all just conjecture.
  10. Why overspend at the closer position when you can get a guy for half the price to repeat the same performance?
  11. Why not? They haven't gone bankrupt yet. I don't know how much more is in the budget for salaries. I think being in the dumps the past few years could get them to bump up the payroll a bit.
  12. The Sox have had many good closers in the past 30 years. Why do you need one that sticks around 5 years?
  13. I'd let pitchers pitch like that as long as they pushed off the rubber for the last step.
  14. Tickets and concessions are also highest in team history.
  15. If he stinks for half the season, you've just dug yourself into a giant hole. They can't wait that long after back to back last place finishes.
  16. Sox scored the 4th most runs in MLB. The trouble was their pitching...
  17. Need a solid midrotation guy for sure.
  18. Yes, it means you should be able to find younger and cheaper options than a declining Paplebum.
  19. They were hoping ERod became a #2 and that they could fast track Espinoza in a few years.
  20. Jung, will you ignore this opinion as well?
  21. For me, the cutoff point is Memorial Day. Sink or Swim.
  22. I'm rooting for him, but he hasn't shown any improvement in ST. If he plays like last year in 2016, just stick a fork in his career.
  23. If his contract was for two more years, he'd be dealt. ChiSox have him through 2019!!!! They aren't moving him unless Betts/Xander are involved.
  24. This is all hypothetical. ChiSox aren't moving him.
