  1. I honestly didn't know if you liked Price better or if you had just forgotten to include him. Not a big deal to me.
  2. At the same age of 25, Shaw had more HR's while only needing half of the ab's that Hillenbrand did.
  3. But AGon trade was worth it just for the drama on Talksox they day AGon got on the plane without signing agreeing to an extension. This place flipped its lid. It was hilarious. Anthony Rizzo would look mighty nice right now though.
  4. If they thought that, he'd be in LF on opening day. He's toast. Stick a fork in him. To them, he's a 5th OF.
  5. Super Theo!
  6. It's not about "they would have," it's about "they should have." They weren't going to pay for Lester. Mistake. They were going to pay for 2 3b's instead. Mistake. I just hope whoever decided on that s*** show has no more say in personnel decisions. If Castillo was salvageable, he'd be the opening day LF. Porcello could pitch like 2014 again, but it's far from a certainty.
  7. Considering the other contracts on the books (Craig, Porcello and Panda), I don't think Hanley's contract is an albatross. It's fine.
  8. I prefer the faster pace of the NHL, but the Bruins are just terrible right now. They are a team on the decline who are going to fire their coach in the next few weeks. The C's just need a guy that can take the ball over at the end of the game (not IT or Evan Turner).
  9. Unpopular Opinion Alert: I'd take Price over Sheilds.
  10. I think Holt will still be the main super-sub, just that when he's not subbing in he will have a position available to him. With Castillo, it was about spending $$$ on a prospect/lottery ticket. If it worked out, great. If it didn't work out, at least they didn't spend all that time training him and it's just money anyway. Basically, they were saying "we don't have ANY OF prospects right now, we need to pay to get one in here. This guy has a high upside and is athletic enough that he could be replacement level at the very least."
  11. It's called doing your research, buster...
  12. I'd probably put not re-signing Cabrera at #4 (this of course is ignoring the clubhouse rumors that no one liked him). It took them almost a decade to find a suitable replacement at SS.
  13. Except that they have seen him day in and day out for a year and a half. They clearly don't like what they see and are moving on. Sure, we can say "oh let's give him a shot," but ultimately we know .0001% of what those guys do. It seems like they are cutting bait and don't believe he'll ever figure it out. We're talking about a 29 year old, not some 24 year old who still has room for growth. Castillo is who he is and they don't seem to like it much.
  14. As long as he doesn't have Hillenbrand's attitude. There's no Bill Mueller to take over for him.
  15. It's probably is: Lester walking Crawford signing to play LF Panda signing a monster deal I can't think of any other moves that were as confounding to me as the above 3.
  16. .800+. It's what he hit last year. He says he's comfortable at 3b so I wouldn't expect a positional change to affect his hitting.
  17. They were never going to sign Max Scherzer, that's a pipe dream. They realistically could have kept Lester if they didn't lowball him.
  18. The C's are better than the Bruins right now (who will impossibly miss the playoffs for 2 straight years).
  19. Resign Lester, sign Price.
  20. Yeah, I think DUMBrowski is pulling a lot of strings atm.
  21. I think that's unfair criticism to Ted because we could have had x and x if we didn't sign 2 3b's.
  22. He'll probably just say "I don't need the beat writers who are in the pockets of management or the coaches who are just trying to save their jobs or the players who are just cashing checks or the trainers who aren't good enough to be real doctors so why are they trainers because they just failed out of medical school and aren't smart enough to know how to use a stethoscope even though every 5 year old has one in the veterinarian kit and it's not like I'd let them even put a band-aid on me telling me whether or not Rodriguez has been pushed back because it's clear he has or else why would have not be on the roster on opening day they should have never let him throw another pitch until he was 100% healthy." That's my guess anyway.
  23. Because people are spending more on going to games each year. The inflated tv contracts are a large part of it too.
  24. Jung, I've seen no one stating the ERod has been pushed back or that he reinjured himself. Where are you getting this from?
  25. What's the point in that?
