  1. Hanley brought the Napoli glove. He had it since last season. He brought the glove. There were no reports saying he didn't bring a glove. Why would the Sox tell anyone to only get balls hit right to them? Crazy talk. I had to hold my phone behind my head while typing this because my eyes rolled so far back in my head...
  2. Is he ready to start the season though? He had that injury last year. I think they'd have him begin the season in AAA. ERod could be ready before Johnson.
  3. How f***ing terrifying would it be to have someone choke the everliving s*** out of you and then here them start shooting off rounds in a nearby room. f*** that guy. Personally, I can't root for people like that. Sometimes there are more important things to root for than just laundry.
  4. Plan B is Stephen Wright?
  5. Point #2 is pulled from your earlier posts that were never responded to. I am willing to admit that I am wrong when evidence disagrees with my belief, some just ignore those posts over and over and over. *additional snark deleted*
  6. Someone had to counterbalance Kimmi's negativity in this thread!
  7. The only time it's brave to play LF at Fenway is when you have a linebacker playing 3b that doesn't mind taking out a LFer on a popup. - Sir Frederick Du Beach
  8. Hanley showed up with the 1b glove he had used to practice with all last year. I'm actually glad that Pablo showed up as a fatty fatty fat fat, because 2 months of "Hanley is using Napoli's glove" stories would have been horrible. Hanley wanted to play 1b in the winter league, but the Sox wouldn't let him. How is that Hanley's fault exactly? Most reports from journalists outside of the Fenway/Globe faction have stated that Hanley looks better defensively than Pablo. Remy has stated that Hanley is getting better by the day. I think I'd trust the viewpoints of those who see him day in and day out before I'd harp on a missed pick in a ST game. At some point, you have to give the players a chance to succeed before you s*** all over them.
  9. The PR department is about as slick as sandpaper coated with shards of glass. These are the people who gave a kick in the ass to the winningest coach this team ever had when he was shown the door.
  10. If this is the case, why are the Sox coaches commending him on the amount of work he is putting in and that he is night and day from last year? Also, I found it hard to believe that he spent his whole time at SS ignoring fly balls...
  11. I think having Erod start the season on the DL or in AAA is a great way to manage his innings.
  12. What I do is just run overly long posts through a Word grammar check and watch my computer melt.
  13. I guess I like to think everyone has a little positivity in them.
  14. So Panda and Porcello were bad ideas then?
  15. Hanley has looked ok. Porcello got hit hard, but he was only working on his fastball (i.e. not regular season pitch selection).
  16. Murphy is definitely the odd man out at this point.
  17. Shaw has already been fielding practice in LF and Farrell has stated that he likes Shaw's flexibility. He's a virtual lock to be on the opening day 25 man roster.
  18. Also, players typically peak around 29, so Shaw still has a lot of room for growth, esecially since he hasn't played a whole season.
  19. Drafted in 2014 2nd round
  20. Carson Smith couldn't locate the Rivera HWY on a map. Stupid millennials...
  21. C'mon, be a little fair. This vaunted system produced Xander and Mookie, two guys that look to be All Star locks for the foreseeable future. They have great organizational depth at C and 2b/SS. They were also able to move high value pieces to get a premium arm and didn't really suffer for it.
  22. Craig is firmly entrenched in AAA. Not sure how they are stuck playing him with regards to the big league club. He'll probably be still in Pawtucket when his contract ends in 2017. Plus, he's only being paid about $6M per so it's not really breaking the bank. Porcello pitched better towards the end of the year when he had a consistent catcher. My guess is that he pitches more like the second half of 2015 going forward. For Castillo, he needs to be at least given a full season before we can call him a bust... Hanley was injured last year and hasn't shown himself to be completely incompetent at 1b. Sure, he didn't pick a bounced throw, but every other Sox 1b this spring has done the same thing during a game so far. He has work to do, but should be athletic enough to be a mediocre 1b. I hope Pablo gets off to a hot start in April and shuts everyone up. It would be best for all involved.
  23. I don't mind 35 ft bombs. I just hate that there is no flow to most games due to excessive timeouts and fouls. The C's used to be my second favorite Boston team, but I struggle to watch a full game nowadays. At most, I just try to tune in for the last 3 minutes if the game is close and it usually ends up being excruciating.
  24. His fastball is noticeably diminished. If he came back to the AL East, I think he'd look like Melancon in a Sox uni. He's not terrible by any means, but I'd rather have the pen the Sox have now. Plus, his attitude wouldn't work well with the direction this team is trying to go.
