  1. Is it the late 90's again where everyone is on HGH and jacking bombs? Did I miss something? Didn't we just have a WS winner that won based off of defense and a great bullpen?
  2. Well, I can't convince you to change your mind on anything, so I'm not going to bother with this one.
  3. Sabremeterics was about finding market inefficiencies, not about propping up hitting. Small market teams started to favor defense once OBP was overvalued again.
  4. Jonathan Paplebon
  5. He's not a slob of a human being.
  6. Arrested Development superfan
  7. Shaw played well last year, Sandoval did not. Shaw has excelled in ST this year, Sandoval has continued to be underwhelming. Would it be a mistake to start Shaw on opening day? It could be. Would it be a mistake to start Sandoval on opening day? It could be. People just prefer the guys who try harder. And it just so happens that the guy who is trying harder, is also playing better in every phase of the game.
  8. Roster crunch is never a problem.
  9. No timetable is set, but he is expected to pitch this season. Please step away from the ledge... He could be ready about the same time Chapman begins his season. Pew pew pew...
  10. "Smith will begin the season on the disabled list after an MRI revealed a strained flexor mass muscle in his right forearm, Mike Silverman of the Boston Herald reports." Per the chart, if he had the Yankees facilities he'd be good to go. However, since he's stuck with the Red Sux he might as well get his arm amputated.
  11. "Ramirez confident First baseman Hanley Ramirez continues to flash his much improved glove. At one point aganst the Cardinals, Ramirez leaped high to spear a line drive. He also stretched far to corral a tough throw from second baseman Brock Holt, who had made a sensational stop in the hole. Ramirez said that his confidence is growing and that compared to last year, when he was learning how to become a left fielder, he is in a much better spot. “No doubt, I think every day is getting better and better and better and better,” Ramirez said. “I feel like everybody is looking at me like, ‘He’s going to make a great play right here.’ That’s what I expect from myself: Get ready, because it’s right here; get ready to dive right here, catch everything.”" CHOO CHOO.. ALL ABOARD!!!!
  12. Over the past 12 months, Shaw has shown a ton of upside while Pablo has shown little to none.
  13. Put a treadmill at the end of the bench.
  14. You might have Hanley hope, but I have Hanley hype!!!! All aboard the hype train for our AS 1b who is ok defensively!!!!
  15. How is he all over the place?
  16. Or Farrell just wants to let the better guy play?
  17. I'll do it after I put the kids down tonight.
  18. @redsoxstats Farrell on ESPN: "Decisions to be made about who plays 3B and how at bats shake out in LF. Loved Shaw saying he wants the job."
  19. @brianmacp Farrell all but said that it's between Elias and Wright for the fifth-starter role. Wright starts Tuesday at Jupiter with Owens behind him.
  20. @scottlauber @Red Sox have pushed back seeing Travis Shaw in left field in order to get him more reps at third base, according... es.pn/1Rav3or
  21. C'mon man, get yourself together!
  22. There's no such thing as having too much pitching.
  23. I hope Pedoia is traded.
  24. I hope Papi ends with a 4th ring.
  25. I hope Buch wins the CY.
