  1. I think it's more due to the fact that they didn't get a LF yesterday at the deadline.
  2. I heard he had bad reads and angles, but was able to make up for it with his athleticism. Also, SMALL SAMPLE SIZE ALERT. He could be perfectly fine out there. Honestly, we won't know until we see it over the course of a month or so.
  3. No, it sucks for the fans that have to stay up late to watch it. West coast games are the worst.
  4. 'A couple of years ago, I had 60 at-bats, I was hitting .170, and everyone was ready to kill me, too. And what happened? Laser show. So, relax.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson
  5. Sox still need a 3b, 1b and DH. Devers and Moncada can be in the mix there. Also, who's to say that Devers couldn't be a good bench player and be called up if someone gets hurt. It's not like you get 10 position guys and close up shop.
  6. That's not saying much though.
  7. The one thing he could do is provide stability to a position that has been in flux all year. If he can go out there and get reps every day, it's more than we can say about everyone else that has been thrown out there. He does need to learn the position. He will have an adjustment period at the plate. He's apparently a hard worker, so we should just give him a little leeway while he gets acclimated.
  8. Big difference is that Ellsbury started the season in AA and played considerable time in AAA. If Benintendi really followed Ells' path, he'd be brought up in 2017.
  9. Soxprospects has also detailed that Benintendi's LF defense is not ready for prime time.
  10. I don't expect him to crush the ball right out of the gate. I hope people don't get their hopes up too high. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=17678&position=3B
  11. Panic move?
  12. In AA: 23 2bs and 3bs, 30 K's Not sure the A stats are relevant.
  13. I agree. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it works though.
  14. @philrogers Yoan Moncada viewed as unlikely piece in Chris Sale talks. Potential @RedSox package leads w/Andrew Benintendi, Eduardo Rodriguez.
  15. Haven't heard the ChiSox asked about Swihart, just Beni and ERod plus other unnamed guys.
  16. Both major radio stations in Boston said it during drive time.
  17. The package the Sox offered was Benintendi and ERod plus. ChiSox said no. ChiSox wanted 3 top prospects plus more.
  18. Sorry. Too much Trade Deadline Eggnog for me!
  19. 4:19pm: Shaw is not going to the deal — it’s righty Michael Santos instead, per Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports (via Twitter).
  20. This is the Texas Rangers Deadline Spectacular!
  21. It always goes until 4:30 or so.
  22. Dillon Tate has stunk this year. Good deal for them.
  23. USA Today’s Bob Nightengale tweets that the White Sox are saying they’ll hang onto both Sale and Jose Quintana, barring a late dramatic change. Joel Sherman of the New York Post hears that the Red Sox aren’t actively discussing Sale with the White Sox (Twitter link).
  24. JPax throws hard, but gets hit hard too. If ERod pitches well, they'll win.
