    @EvanDrellich Joel Wolfe says Red Sox told them at GM meetings the team was prioritizing pitching. Wolfe noted how crowded Red Sox outfield is. Asked if salary was concern for Sox, Wolfe said it was for everyone. Trade for pitching, sign FA bats?

    @redsoxstats The Stanton trade moved the Yankees from 43.5 projected WAR to 46.8. Not yet close to the Astros, but jumped them over the Red Sox and Guardians.

    Machado is only signed for one more year. That doesn't make any sense to me. What has DD actually caved for? He brought in Kimbrel and Sale. Both of those guys have been outstanding.

    Team statement: 'We are aware of the incident involving Steven. This is certainly a matter that the Red Sox take very seriously. It is my understanding that both local police and MLB are looking into this and for that reason, the club won’t have any further comment at this time. Not good enough.
