  1. FULL THROTTLE is why I wrote "we'll see." Breslow had a very good offseason last year. He needs to follow it up with another good one this year.
  2. They've made statements that they wouldn't, but we'll see.
  3. It's only the 2nd day of the Winter Meetings. No reason to rant about roster makeup until ST rolls around.
  4. They said that Garcia and Travieso should have been equal value for Oviedo and other sources were surprised that Breslow was able to bring back additional value. Guzman's glove gives him a high floor, but needs to work on the offensive side (has shown patience and pull power). Samaniego adjusted his mechanics post surgery and was able to be more effective in '25, but has not pitched above AA (secondaries need work). While Garcia was ranked 6th, they could make the case that he was in a tier that was anywhere from 6 to 15 or so (where some teams value him). Travieso was seen as a top 10 prospect by some other franchises, but also had a very fluid value similar to Garcia.
  5. I'm surprised the Mets didn't want to keep him around. It's a high AAV, but is' not a crazy contract. Kinda weird at first glance.
  6. Last season was PLAYOFFS 89-73. Feeling pretty good ATM.
  7. Dead pull hitter, but really poor hard hit rate. Doesn't seem like a Bloom guy?
  8. PITT is the least HR friendly stadium to RHB in MLB. Alonso should look elsewhere IMO.
  9. What 4 World Series rings does to a person... 😼
  10. They have stockpiled enough other SP assets that they could include in a trade for Paredes if they went that route. Would be surprised to see them trade Tolle/Early for anything but a superstar positional player or a TOTR guy.
  11. If the market is Pitt, Cincy and Baltimore, it isn't much of a market.
  12. No way would the Sox do that. They were hesitant to include either for Ryan. Can't see them trading either for Paredes.
  13. Not surprising with Schwarber.
  14. Sox are interested in a lot of guys. Familiar pattern from almost every offseason from recent memory.
  15. He shouldn't have to explain anything, but he really brought it on himself by opening up his mouth to begin with.
  16. Early 1-2, 2.33 ERA (as a starter) Sandoval 18-49, 4.01 ERA (as a starter) Dobbins 4-1 4.25 ERA (as a starter) Oviedo 13-26, 4.39 ERA (as a starter) Crawford 16-29 4.69 ERA (as a starter) Tolle 0-1, 7.84 ERA (as a starter) To me, Early, Sandoval and Oviedo are competing for the last two spots going by what you posted. Considering the cash outlay and lack of options, Sandoval is definitely getting the first crack at the 5th spot in the rotation at the very least. Maybe he flames out? Maybe he's not ready and is phantom IL'd to start the year like we've seen with Bello, Giolito and others recently? I do wonder about the idea of moving Bello in a trade for a #2 rather than Tolle or Early.
  17. I think you are confusing Breslow with Bloom.
  18. The Mets 86'd that handshake agreement. 😢
  19. When Breslow makes a perfectly fine trade but it doesn't include a #2:
  20. If he's not done, what is there to get worked up about unless this specific trade is a problem. Ignore the idea of a #2, was this trade good or not?
