  1. You're thinking of Ethan Hawke?
  2. The issue with Roman is his high GB rate (27th highest of guys > 200 AB's) matching Luis Rengifo. He has always hit the ball hard. He has always hit the ball into the ground. It really limits his ceiling.
  3. Yeah, good deal in a vacuum, but we live in a world where people make duck boat jokes about MiLB signings. 🫠
  4. That would be really silly. What if another team came in and got the guy that you had an agreement in place for? The second that story leaked it would be all over for Craig.
  5. A's are probably happy with Denzel Clarke TBH.
  6. We also can't project improvements from half the roster over '25. Relying on that has always been a little foolish. I know right now we tend to get a little more hopeful about the Sox and overestimate their chances, which causes people to crash out around Memorial Day when they aren't quite what we expected. Overall, I think they'll be about where they were last year. Great pitching, but a step backwards producing runs. 88-90 wins
  7. "None of the above" - Monty Brewster
  8. That's what I said yesterday, he's fine as an EXPENSIVE backup. He's a good defender that can play 2b/SS/3b which nobody else on the 40 man can do reliably. They have Story, Mayer and a big question mark at 2b. Signing IKF is fine as insurance. If he's starting 100+ games and that was the plan? Yuck! Right now, the move pushes Hamilton to AAA and has IKF platooning with Romy. Ok? I'd rather bring in Paredes and push Eaton to AAA as well. That would have Romy and IKF as the bench guys.
  9. We're getting at least 5 years out of Breslow no matter what happens.
  10. Complaining about MiLB deals? They do have to field a full roster in POR and WOO.
  11. He'll be a part time player and the defensive metrics will skew him to be like a 1.5 fWAR guy.
  12. If he's "definitely a bullpen arm" he should be pitching out of the pen in AAA rather than projecting to start IMO.
  13. This is as close as you got to saying he'd win his case. Wanting him to win vs saying he's going to win are two different things IMO.
  14. Your original "quote" of "at least now we have 26 guys pulling in the same direction" is definitely not the same thing. Duran's quote is just "he was one of 26 guys." In fact, it doesn't even say Devers wasn't pulling in the same direction as the other players like you allude to. Just a real bad misreading on your part TBH.
  15. If we hadn't banned him in 2012, we'd have posts to refer to. Oh well.
  16. I told everyone multiple times that he'd win his case. Everyone here told me he wouldn't.
  17. BoSox relievers in the 75th percentile or better in 2025 for fastball velo (approx 96 mph): Chapman - extended Hicks - traded Tolle - starter role only? Slaten - still here Guerrero - traded Kelly - still here for now Whitlock - still here Seems like the backend the bullpen can still sling it a little bit. Tayron Guerrero in WOO will touch triple digits, but I don't think we'll be seeing him in BOS.
  18. You guys are way more optimistic than I am about this.
  19. Brent Rooker is a 20 WAR player, you heard it here first...
