  1. drag bunt - check spit ball - check spiking Machado - double check
  2. They were an 82 win team last year and he probably added 6 wins this year, a portion of which just comes from promoting Roman Anthony. His communication skills are what held this team back at the trade deadline.
  3. I'd rather have Hamilton down the stretch coming off the bench than Toro now that Lowe is the primary 1b. Hamilton can at least play a decent 2b and run very fast. Toro was below average across the board.
  4. He'd have value if his glove was playable in the field. He just doesn't have any range as he's slow, unathletic and doesn't have an arm either. For a 5'10" guy, he needs to tighten that up.
  5. Coming off TJS, that's a big IF for a guy who has never thrown 150 innings in one season before.
  6. Rafaela - CF always Anthony - LF/RF, seems very good either way Duran - glove has taken a step back and is a LF/DH, backup CF in emergency situations only Abreu - RF
  7. Cora .536 win % Grady .552 win % Time for a redemption arc. Right everybody?!?!?
  8. I think you need someone to take a hit out on John Henry.
  9. Theo 2003: Millar Walker Mueller Papi Timlin Williamson Arroyo
  10. Ben the Boob actually created a functional team in 2013: Napoli 3.7 bWAR Drew 2.7 bWAR Gomes 1.6 bWAR Victorino 6.0 bWAR Carp 1.5 bWAR Ross 0.7 bWAR Koji 3.5 bWAR Peavy 0.6 bWAR (partial year)
  11. Casas has maxed out at 500 PA's. Who cares what his 650 is?
  12. Arraez has been a 1.7 fWAR guy the last two full seasons combined. I'd rather throw Masa or Casas at 1b instead if that's all you're getting out of him.
  13. Trying to get Ryan in July makes no sense. Can he get him this offseason? Sure. Could Breslow (or a more experienced version) have acquired a 1b or 2b to help with the positional rotation? Definitely. Another RP? Yes.
  14. I'm can almost guarantee that our Opening Day 40 man will have 12 new guys on it. Problem solved.
  15. Why would I assume they are going to lose out when it's a different roster and they are currently holding a playoff spot?
  16. Arraez has only played above 50 games at 2b once and had a -11 OAA. There's a big reason he was transitioned to 1b. He's pretty bad there too.
  17. Tear it all down for what? Just to punt the next 3 years again?
  18. There's less time to be methodical and stick to a process during a blitz like the trade deadline. I think you need experience to really run the end of July. Offseason, drafting, building the farm, etc. should be easier.
  19. What do those years have to do with this year? This year's rotation has 4 new starters. The position players include Narvaez, Anthony, a healthy Story for once, Bregman and maybe a new fulltime 1b? The bullpen has a healthy Whitlock and Chapman is one of the best closers in baseball.
