  1. Cold stove season.
  2. SP does it based on MLB service time, not age or sell by date.
  3. Doesn't mean s*** to me.
  4. It wasn't done intentionally and the Stanley Cup has seen far worse...
  5. My goalposts didn't move at all. The Yankees haven't really competed the past few years and they won't this year. It was wrapped up long before the final week, you just didn't want to believe it.
  6. I was never "off" his bandwagon. I just thought he should have been traded a few years ago when his value was still high. I was proven correct even though some silly folks think I was just buzzarding. I like Pedroia on the team. I'm not sure he'll be worth $12M in 2021, but time will tell. If they can win another ring this year or next, I'm fine with a Pedey retirement tour in '21.
  7. If he had much value, they would have traded him last year. He'll get traded for a AAAA arm.
  8. When you got six of them already, it's ok if one of them breaks.
  9. Just Pats and I believe some of the Lombardi trophies.
  10. The Sox have two rings since the last time the Yankees even won the division. If that's "spin" you live in a very different world from me. Back to back to back to back!
  11. Hope you're hungry!
  12. I don't have 99.9% of the cards I had when I was a kid. Regrowing my collection has been slow and steady. The toughest part is that my favorite card stores aren't around anymore. I'm actually going to take my son to a card show on Monday and have been trying to ease him into the hobby. He's more of a pokemon collector right now though.
  13. Sometimes, but that's only for the vintage wax packs. The newer cards don't have gum in them. I got a wax pack box of 1990 Topps for Xmas and had a lot of fun opening them all. I tried one piece of gum. It was an unholy combination of sand and glass. Hard to resist though.
  14. Sale gets a lot of flack on here from Yankees fans about not being an October guy. Why are they ignoring Severino's postseason numbers?!?!?!?!?
  15. Some people on here have a -SOHAR. Sad!
  16. Guys, this really happened. Maybe your brains are so broken by this event that you can't recall it?
  17. Sox nearly doubled the amount of runs the Yanks had in the ALDS and won the WS. I would posit that they were definitely other worldly better than the Yanks last year.
  18. Whatever helps you sleep at night.
  19. Every stat is special to me. They all are useful when I need to pick and chose backup for another dumb argument on here.
  20. And the Sox have handedly won the division the past 3 years. That hasn't prevented you from thinking the Yankees have some sort of chance.
  21. WAR is now listed on the back of Topps baseball cards you old fart.
  22. @ByChrisMason Dustin Pedroia took groundballs in a full World Series uniform the other day.
  23. As it has been said before, WAR isn't the end all be all. It's not some all encompassing stat.
  24. Top 3 WAR in 2018 was Merrifield, Altuve and Lowrie. Lowrie has an up and down career and won't have a WAR above 4 this year. I think Merrifield will play more like 2017, still good but not great. Altuve is better than Pedroia for sure. When Pedroia has a resurgent season, the Sox fans are going to hammer that vote in the ballot box. Will he start the game? Not sure. Will he be on the field at some point, most definitely.
  25. @alexspeier Dombrowski on Sale’s present/future: ‘He’s healthy. He’s cleared to be in a normal spring training. ... he’s a guy we’d like to be in the organization.’
