  1. I don't believe there are many suitors out there. I also don't believe the 6/170 rumors. That amount is most likely higher than what the Sox offered.
  2. Not as his age he wouldn't. His production per year isn't worth it either. He just doesn't have the Soto/Ohtani ceiling.
  3. That's not what mission creep is. Not the definition at all. They are a baseball team. They should acquire FAs. If mission creep is acquiring FAs then they need new ownership.
  4. Breggie is a good clubhouse guy. He's like another coach on the field. See how he is on the bench with Roman showing him an ipad with Brawl Starts on it?
  5. Per Cots 2019 CBT 1 206M, CBT 2 226M, CBT 3 246 M Sox Payroll: 243M, 13M in tax paid
  6. I'm believing the Sox Payroll guy a lot more than I'm believing Cots. There are also other players that the Sox want to sign (left handed reliever) and moves they'll want to make during the season that will increase the payroll. Getting it to 260 for the Bregman signing and not dumping anyone else, almost assures them that they go over the 2nd threshold or are not signing anyone else and aren't making a splash at the trade deadline.
  7. He's a good, not great player. Many people thought his power numbers would skyrocket hitting at Fenway in 2025 when they daydreamed about him in a Sox jersey. They didn't. His home splits were terrible. Honestly, the same thing would happen if they brought Bo here in 2025. He might put up good away numbers, but the Fenway numbers would be bleak.
  8. Yeah, they took so many high profile team leaders!
  9. Sox are willing to make other trades to get under it though.
  10. The 2025 Cardinals went a Sox-esque 78-84. Is that the culture we're trying to bring back?
  11. Let's NOT go down this road. Thanks.
  12. Per SP: Sox are at 243.44 2nd Threshold 264 3rd Threshold 284
  13. Red Sox love making the final offer and then never budging the like the south going zax.
  14. Suarez's defense is not good enough today let alone 3 years from now. If it's Donovan are they going to be called the 2026 Boston Cardinals or the 2026 St Louis Red Sox of Boston?
  15. Bregman has said he wants this to be his last contract. I'm not sure if he wants opt outs built in.
  16. This would put the Sox at the third threshold for just signing Bregman. It makes no sense.
  17. Tibbs for May was just a pathetic trade. They lucked into Lowe becoming available for free weeks later.
  18. Ok, if we're projecting -0.5 per year, when does the decline happen? He declined 0.7 from 24 to 25. Maybe the 26 projection is overstated and he's already in the decline? My daughter threw a chair when Devers was traded so... 🫠 I think Bregman wants more than 5/125 as that's less than the Alonso contract. I think he doesn't care about the break even point and is holding out for something stronger. Again, we don't really know what the "aggressive" offer is that the Sox made.
  19. For everyone worrying about how much JH is or isn't spending, today is ARB deadline day. Casas - 7.7M Wong - 1.375M Kutter - 2.75M Houck, Oviedo, Romy, Casas - agreement not reached yet
  20. They don't have anyone they can QO to offset it this time either.
  21. We can all have a silly, fun time, but let's try to get along though. Ok?
