  1. Kimmi already calling for a rainout that won't be rescheduled! 🤔
  2. If someone gets frisky and selects Shane Drohan, he would not be returned to the Sox if released by the selecting team. Not sure if that matters in the Sox's calculation (12 G, 48 IP, 1.01 WHIP, 2.27 ERA in AAA this season).
  3. FanGraphs playoff odds as of 9/22: Red Sox 90% Tigers 85% Astros 65% Guardians 60% One of these teams is going to miss out.
  4. 3rd in the AL East! Things went awry in the final game of the series. - That's putting it kindly. That game really went off the rails and showed some of the worst of Red Sox baseball. Bad situational hitting. Bad fielding.
  5. Brandon changed the title, not me. If the Sox lose, it's on them. 🫠
  6. I don't remember, but that's why I didn't edit the thread title without asking everyone first. These games matter too much now. Want people to weigh in.
  7. Yeah, there may need to be trades for involving guys without options like Criswell, Hicks, Moran and Winckowski. They may think about moves regarding Bernardino and Weissert too. On the hitter side, Grissom is the only guy that really needs to be moved and is out of options.
  8. For mojo reasons, should we change the date in the title?
  9. Sox are probably hoping to slide Mullins through the Rule 5 process and hope him being 25 in AA with significant injury risk keeps him off the radar.
  10. Sandlin's MiLB results have been very similar to Slaten's prior to him being drafted. If he was left unprotected, he'd get drafted just because he throws so hard and can look really nasty in his best moments. There's zero chance he'd go unpicked.
  11. They won't be able to keep everyone. Uberstine is most likely not put on the 40 man. Maybe just Sandlin? DFA Winckowski and Campbell (both out of options).
  12. If they just throw Sandlin in the pen and get him to work on his control, maybe it works out a bit? IDK. I've never been as high on him as many others have been.
  13. They used to have a guy with a high barrel and ISO rate.
  14. Now that it's fall, will the Gourdians turn into pumpkins?
  15. @moonslav59, you asked about Perales's option years remaining. Chris Hatfield said on the recent pod that he currently has 1 option year remaining for next season BUT there's a chance that he could earn a 4th option year for 2027. He didn't go into detail about it, but it would be because of the TJS that prevented him from being added to a roster as he's essentially rehabbing right now. The rule per mlb.com is: Players typically have three option years, but those who have accrued less than five full seasons (including both the Major and Minors) are eligible for a fourth if their three options have been exhausted already. For the purposes of this rule, spending at least 90 days on an active Major League or Minor League roster during a given season counts as one full season. Players also earn a full season if they spend at least 30 days on an active Major League or Minor League roster AND their active-roster and injured-list time amounts to at least 90 days in a given season.
  16. Crochet is considerably worse on short rest. His HR/9 goes from 1.05 to 1.5 and his ERA goes up to 3.58. If you can't have Crochet for Games 1 or 2 of the Wild Card, I'm not sure Game 162 matters especially if you aren't getting the best version of Crochet. May as well throw Giolito out there who is in line to go that day.
  17. Giant Brand's lone WooSox appearance? He was used to come in after Zack Kelly couldn't get out of a 1st inning in an April start. Brand is typically used as a guy who gets ready fast and is thrown into a game really quickly, especially early in the year and ST. The results weren't very good (5 strikes, 19 balls). He walked the bases loaded. Walked the next guy to score a run. Then gave up a 3 run 2b that was hit 403'.
  18. Nate Eaton has more career bWAR than any other VMI graduate. Josh Winder of the Twins is a close second.
  19. Breslow and Cora aren’t getting fired even if they lose out.
  20. To me, it doesn’t matter if they miss the playoffs again or get swept in the WC. It’s the same thing.
  21. I think 2012 quit, not 2011. 2011 just had no pitching down the stretch.
