  1. That dwarf JH's wealth or FSG's wealth? And does that actually matter or no? If we're just looking at Red Sox operations and related real estate, NESN operations, etc. I don't think we need to dip into their personal funds the way Cohen does. We know FSG is making more than enough revenue to go over the 2nd threshold, they just don't want to. That another owner has more personal wealth is irrelevant.
  2. Uh, do we have to go back and start auditing posts from the '22 season now?
  3. Sure you can. How do you think the 2004 Red Sox did it? Manny Millar Reese Mueller Damon Ortiz Foulke Timlin
  4. The Dodgers still have the best farm system in baseball and are willing to outspend everyone. I'll guess that they'll have a chance to be better than the Sox. The Yankees rarely miss a postseason, so I'm not counting them out either. Brewers have a monster system and have only missed the playoffs once in the past 7 years so I'll go with them too. Also, with how the past few offseasons have gone, there's a good chance that a few of the guys you have projected to be on the roster will be traded before they reach the bigs.
  5. If you believe these guys can actually play MLB level ball in 2030. What if Roman is a guy that is never an MVP level/All Star starting OFer? What if the other guys don't project the way you expect them to? Then the club isn't very good. If Tolle doesn't get a second pitch, he's not a starter, he's a reliever.
  6. The Section 10 guys discussed that the idea that an aggressive offer was made was most likely leaked from Sam Kennedy. This makes sense as (a) the details aren't known, (b) Sam isn't a guy that is in Breslow's inner circle to know the details and (c) it's in Sam's best interest to make it look like the Sox are actually trying really hard to get Bregman so that he can point to previous reports if Bregman signs elsewhere.
  7. Under 6'. Doesn't k guys anymore. BB's too many guys. Relies heavily on a 4 seamer. Doesn't seem like a Breslow guy at all.
  8. And SoxProspects only projects Tolle, Arias, Early and Witherspoon to be an average regular or better. All the other guys are bench or up and down guys. Unless all these guys start reaching their ceilings, which is far from likely...
  9. I mean, this team is not all that different than what we are throwing out there now. Is this some sort of world beater? Arias hasn't hit above A. Mayer hasn't hit above AAA. Narvaez has had one good season. Rafaela is no guarantee. The pitching is a huge question mark due to injury. Saying it's virtually impossible is just a wild take. The Dodgers and Yankees are in the playoffs every year. Until the Sox get to that level, it's hard for me to believe this roster can be at the top of anything.
  10. There's risk, but that's why you develop overall org depth. I don't think just adding another 2 fWAR to the projected rotation fixes a loss of Crochet. However, adding another 2 fWAR to the offense is more likely to be sustainable throughout the year IMO. You kind of just have to cross your fingers and hope for the health luck we had in the WS years.
  11. Sounds good, but neither trade is happening. Reds don't want Mayer as they have De La Cruz, Stewart and McLain. I don't believe the Astros are going to tank their season just yet.
  12. That's the exact opposite of what I read last year: Discworld - first 16 books Starlings: the Curious Odyssey of a Most Hated Bird, by Mike Stark Insectopolis: a Natural History by Peter Kuper
  13. The only issue is that pitchers are inherently riskier due to injury so the projections can be less reliable year to year. Sox were able to make it to the playoffs with injuries to Roman and Bregman. If Crochet misses half a season? Nah.
  14. In 2030? What's even the roster at that point? That's expecting a lot out of guys that haven't really matured yet and a system that is not creating everyday players currently.
  15. We just did the roof and the windows are probably the most important next purchase living in FL. There has to be some sort of work done in the bathrooms for sure, but probably not full remodels. If we just made the kitchen island bigger and replaced the countertops, it wouldn't be too bad. The pool has to get resurfaced at some point too...
  16. They are controlled, but they aren't cheap anymore after signing extensions (which started in '24 TBF).
  17. Perez and Coulombe are too short for Breslow. I think Wilson is the best bet. I guess Mayza is a fallback option, but his last decent season was 2023. Not very exciting.
  18. I saw it on my tv. It actually happened. Brad Pitt met John Henry.
  19. Well, they should give it away. Give it to me specifically. My wife wants to redo most of the house.
  20. For reference, Pedro was paid 12.5M every year. Sandoval is going home with 12.75M this year. 😎
  21. Also, do you think it's the actor that comes up with the line? That's what it sounds like.
  22. I go to enough MiLB games and watch way more on MLB.tv, if you give me MiLB prices I'm not going to complain. I'll watch a AAA team if it's not BOS pricing.
  23. We had an annual yahoo league for several seasons, but it fell apart a few years ago. I think it was $20 most years and then free the last year. https://talksox.com/forums/forum/66-contestsprizes/
