  1. The area around whatever they call the Giants stadium now used to be really rough. I know there's been lots of gentrification, but it's still not a great neighborhood. Downtown SF (including SOMA) just sucks.
  2. They just picked the wrong stocks!
  3. SF is really bad. Lots of aggressive panhandlers and downtown absolutely reeks. I loved living there and it's a cool place to visit, but it's a nightmare combination of tech bros and poverty. IMO, LA > SF. I loved all the little beach towns surrounding LA. The overall vibe is really chill. If we could have afforded it, we'd still be living in El Segundo.
  4. That's a lot of dead bodies to fondle.
  5. @mlbtraderumors Jeremy Hellickson Unlikely To Pitch In 2020 Following Shoulder Setback
  6. Does the post mortem on the Astros scandal make it more or less likely that Manfred tries to come down hard on the Sox?
  7. Need to get rid of the tiki idol that Bloom got from Greg Brady.
  8. @susanslusser Tony Kemp says when he came up in 2017, he was asked to use “the system” and he said no. Was having a good season at Triple A and didn’t want to change anything up. Kept his head down and didn’t say anything.
  9. We'd also never hear the end of how Bloom is a disaster who is probably just some robot or puppet and could never lace up a pair of cleats. Also, I heard that Bloom doesn't even know that Baltimore isn't the capital of Maryland! What a dum dum.
  10. Not worthy of a sig bet IMO.
  11. I thought it was the "homie juice" that someone was trying to sell us at the TA.
  12. Plus, in season trades usually bring diminishing returns. I'm not sure who Elkton was refering to as saying "hold onto Betts to increase his trade value" but I don't think it was people who are posting right now.
  13. Bro, do you even watch the Wire? Crab cakes? Do you even Natty Boh?!?
  14. Have you seen this year's rotation?
  15. I too believe in the boogeyman.
  16. @ChrisCotillo Kevin Pillar deal could become official today. Going through physical now. Can we even trust the medical staff to do this?!??!?!?
  17. No, he wants to keep his radio job by getting listeners to hear what nonsense is coming next.
  18. The problem with that thought process is "what about 2021, 2022?"
  19. Compete, but not get under the lux tax, which was the only consideration.
  20. Well, if you only consider the 2020 MLB roster you may think that.
  21. Sure. We just don't know the reasons so we can't debate them. All we have is salary and on field performance. I don't believe that Bloom would make a move that didn't have some logistical reason behind it. DD was much more of the "I want my player and I want it now" kinda guy. Bloom seems more patient and hopefully has a better plan.
  22. I talked myself liking that deal as I thought it was an inevitability. The Dodgers deal makes much more sense to me. You automatically reset the lux tax, you have a replacement for Betts in RF and add 2 players that can fill positions of need in MiLB pipeline. Having Price's dead money isn't great. Having Myers too would be even worse.
  23. Fauria is also know for saying absolutely dumb s*** too.
