"But they know that the Red Sox want to trade him so they will just decide to lowball the Red Sox even though they really want Price because they know the Red Sox want to shed salary!"
Sox will probably have to eat some salary, but I'd rather it be like $15M rather than $30M. Until a move is made, it's tough for us to really know what the market is.
I really have no clue about the site and if there’s value. I just know that people have been referencing it this offseason for some reason. As with everything, I don’t take it too seriously.
Sugary rocket question:
So it's projected that the Sox will have to pay about 40% of Price's salary to offload him. Per the SIMULATOR, to trade Price for AAAA scrub, you'd have to pay 60M which is well over 60% of his remaining contract. Does the trade simulator just expect him to be a negative WAR player going foward if that's the case? Or is the -60M remaining value just throwing s*** at the wall? Would it make more sense if his remaining value was -35M instead because that's what it would take to apparently move him for no future value?
A lot of players have been known to walk to and from the games. I know Steven Wright did, but that was probably just to beat up a homeless guy on the way home after a loss.
