  1. Sure, but there is a huge difference between playing well in AA and knocking the door down like Devers and Beni did.
  2. I will say that 1996's Ed is just straight trash compared to the other movies mentioned.
  3. Who are you to doubt Russell Madness?
  4. The big problem with the MVP franchise is that the first movie is buried by the awesomeness of Most Xtreme Primate which came a few years later and was a far superior movie.
  5. The 7.5 rating is much higher than last year's first half rating of 5.3. In 2018, the first half ratings were 6.8.
  6. From the Valentine era: https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2012/07/13/media/knL69JSi7YsgPLHb6ya56L/story.html The Red Sox’ first-half performance may have been disappointing to their fans, but that hasn’t discouraged them from reliably tuning in. NESN’s game telecasts are averaging a 7.5 household rating this season, according to information provided by the network and confirmed via Nielsen Media Research. The telecasts are averaging a viewership of 224,000 P2+ (people 2 years and older) per night. The steady ratings are encouraging for the regional sports network, and somewhat surprising given the ball club’s mediocre first-half (43-43 record) and some residual frustration among the fan base from last September’s colossal collapse.
  7. Peraza's upside is that he can play all over the place if there's an injury. He sees to be solid every other year so he's probably due in 2020. Not sure that Shaw could back up CF or SS.
  8. Again, it's not that $4M is too expensive, it's that $4M is too expensive for Shaw. They gave Peraza 2.8 and Perez 6.5.
  9. It is pretty amazing that a dog records the final out of a world series in a movie which helps propel the real team to win the world series in the following year! Rally monkey? It was all about Buddy Fram and he's vastly underappreciated for it.
  10. I'm down for it. Plus, with the guaranteed 2 months on the IL, you'd be able to give some younger players like Ockimey a little run. If it works, great. If it doesn't, send them back to AAA and release them in the offseason.
  11. Through 5/31: OPS 537 After 5/31: OPS 557 It wasn't just a bad start. He stunk all year. Career high K rate and low ISO. Maybe pitchers have just figured him out? It's not like he had a great track record prior to 2017. It's more likely that he was just a flash in the pan IMO.
  12. I tend to agree with this. Maybe to the Sox Shaw isn't worth 4M? He was a -19.7 oWAR guy last year.
  13. Devers had over 1500 PA's in A ball or above before coming up. Casas has about 500. Devers OPS'd 940 in AA and 1047 in AAA before being promoted in 2017. Casas OPS'd 820 last year at age 19 in A ball. Casas just isn't there right now. If he followed Devers' path, he'd be up late 2021.
  14. Air Bud Seventh Inning Fetch.
  15. Or Josh Ockimey. Probably one of LoMo, Duda or Mitch.
  16. They should have just done the Bush Push play again tho.
  17. Quiet you. White was a great college RB. He just didn’t get it done there.
  18. You handpicked 10 years, I went 20.
  19. Anderson Espinoza.
  20. Now do since 1999.
  21. Not hindsight. Even the announcers on tv questioned it. He was done. Everyone saw him do his postgame routine. He didn’t think he was coming back out.
  22. Everyone I was at the bar with was saying he should have been taken out. I don't know anyone who wanted to keep him in. It was baffling.
