  1. Well, you could have not TL;DR'd the follow up post.
  2. @IanCundall Wasn’t sure they’d fill the spot given there’s only a few weeks left, but will be great experience for Yorke. I wonder if part of the reasoning is to start to get him ramped back up before the Fall Instructional League since his high school season was cut short.
  3. @RedSox The #RedSox today added INF Nick Yorke to their Club Player Pool. RHP Colten Brewer, who remains on the 45-day injured list, was removed from the Club Player Pool. The Club Player Pool is at 59.
  4. Aren't we all trending towards done in the grand scheme of things?
  5. He doesn't have to, but he does. His numbers this year would normalize over 162 games.
  6. I agree. Seems like the best way. I'd get rid of the AL and NL and just have 4 regional divisions. A NE division with the Sox/Mets/NYY/Jays/Pitt/Nats/O's would be cool.
  7. Would you prefer: 8 divisions 4 divisions (plus 4 WC) 6 divisions (plus 2 WC)
  8. I'm hoping that there is multiple play in games for this lame playoff system.
  9. No, it'd be more likely to exacerbate his struggles.
  10. Morton's K rate plummeted this year and his HR allowed rate is his highest in 10 years. His FB velocity is 3 mph lower than it was 2 years ago. Morton is trending towards done
  11. Lost control aka had no starting pitching left in September.
  12. Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke said Thursday that the team is hoping Eduardo Rodriguez (heart) will be cleared for a "normal-ish offseason strength program." Rodriguez has been out all year after he developed a heart condition called myocarditis following a battle with COVID-19, but he is back in Boston now and undergoing tests to determine the next step in the rehab process. This situation will obviously be slow-played, and there might not be a clear picture about the 27-year-old left-hander's availability for 2021 until we get closer to next spring. Workload could be an issue even if he is determined to be fully healthy, as E-Rod threw zero innings in 2020 after logging 203 1/3 innings in 2019. You and me both, Ronald.
  13. Manfred originally said this in case the season was cancelled at some point or as a punishment if some teams were intentionally tanking. If he decides to just go forward with it anyway, it'd be pretty s*****.
  14. Lester is getting that 10M buyout this offseason. I believe he still has value as a 4/5 guy who can eat innings. It'd be cool of the Sox to bring him back for one more year, but Lester may just want to go home.
  15. No more commercials pleez
  16. #RedSox Lineup 09/16/20 1. Alex Verdugo CF 2. Rafael Devers 3B 3. Xander Bogaerts SS 4. J.D. Martinez DH 5. Christian Vazquez C 6. Yairo Munoz RF 7. Bobby Dalbec 1B 8. Michael Chavis LF 9. Christian Arroyo 2B Starting Pitcher : Mike Kickham
  17. @ChrisCotillo MLB released the 2021 spring training schedule. Let's hope it goes as planned. Red Sox open up vs. Northeastern on Feb. 26, start Grapefruit League play vs. Pirates the next day. Two games vs. Yankees (3/3, 3/10) and a home-and-home against the Braves in FL before Opening Day.
  18. Or not.
  19. @alexspeier Nick Pivetta is pitching in Pawtucket today - which essentially ensures that he won’t be promoted until next week, thus pushing back his eligibility for free agency to 2024
  20. The rating for Houck is depressed as they don't believe he's a starter. They believe Ward/Mata/Song/Groome all have a better potential to stick as a starter. Prior to this year, that definitely seemed to be the case. But I'm sure you know much more about the prospects than those guys do.
  21. I like the Dodgers version of the Rays for sure.
  22. I know people on here pan Devers' defense, but when he made that really great play at 3B the Marlins announcers were saying "we seen great plays like this from Devers before."
  23. That's why he's working on a splitter.
  24. Does this need its own thread though? Especially one with such a weak title?
  25. Tanner Houck: “Right now, I’m kind of high on life. That win was truly amazing.”
