  1. He cleans the ray touch tank they thrown in the deal.
  2. What's your cut off age?
  3. @SPChrisHatfield Joey Meneses hit his fifth home run of the LMP season last night, leading to the reveal of another great winter league nickname: Cabajoey, a mashup of "caballo" (which means horse) with his name.
  4. Think they'll throw in the pool of rays too?
  5. Vaz for Kiermaier Chirinios Yarbrough
  6. Fine, throw Glasnow in there too, but give them Chavis to make up the difference.
  7. It's like me sitting next to a piece of pizza. Am I gonna eat it or am I gonna eat it. Very likely!
  8. It'd be funnier if he lived in Mashpee. He seems more like a Chatham kinda guy though.
  9. Probably Wander Franco.
  10. Well, at least we know what he's up to when not working!
  11. https://www.overthemonster.com/2020/12/11/22166800/boston-red-sox-offseason-preview-kirby-yates-free-agent "After being selected off waivers by the San Diego Padres in 2017, Yates has been one of baseball’s most consistent relievers. He’s great at keeping the ball in the park, strikes out a ton of batters, and limits walks. In 2019, not only were his both ERA and FIP below 1.40, but he was among the top two in home runs allowed per 9 innings, top five in strikeouts per nine, and top 15 in walks per nine. He finished second in all of baseball in fWAR (and first in the National League) among relievers that year. On top of all that, both his ERA and walk rate have improved in each of his 3 full years with the Padres. One of the main reasons for Yates’ production with the Padres is the development of his splitter. Not coincidentally, he introduced this splitter when that breakout first happened in 2017, and has had immense success using it. Since its introduction, opposing hitters have never recorded a batting average above .165 against the pitch." I'd take almost any professional reliever at this point. The further away we get from the 2020 bullpen, the worse it smells.
  12. Who knew that DD would be the "big one to drop"! What's up next for the other DD, Dan Duquette?
  13. Sox sign Puello to MILB deal.
  14. @jaysonst BREAKING: The #Phillies are in the advanced stages of talks to hire Dave Dombrowski as their new president of baseball ops, sources told @TheAthleticMLB .
  15. Here's some video of him pitching over the summer (post TJS): https://twitter.com/redsoxstats/status/1337086998952239104
  16. @redsoxstats Whitlock is an extreme groundball pitcher. 2.4 GB/FB and 56% GB rate were both 3rd in the Eastern League in 2019. He's 6'5 with big extension in his delivery. Low to mid 90s fastball with a slider that flashed plus at times. Sounds better than some of the guys on staff in 2020?
  17. Considering where I work, Come Sail Away is pretty spot on.
  18. "Reds pass." Whew. I can't believe I listened to that whole thing. What was Kimmi saying again?
  19. Boston passes in 3rd round of AAA phase.
  20. Gotta get that heat back into the rivalry. Also, other teams are staying away from Sox prospects. @SoxProspects No Red Sox were selected in the Rule 5 Draft.
  21. @redsoxstats I believe he is an exit velocity darling. 260 pounds and puts up some big XBH numbers. Keeps the ball in the air.
  22. Sox take Kaleb Ort from NYY AA. http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?player_id=672391
  23. @IanCundall The Red Sox selected Tyreque Reed a 1B from the Texas Rangers in the Minor League Rule 5 phase. Reed has a big frame a huge raw. He hit .270/.365/.487 in 2019 with 18 HR. He excelled in Low-A, but struggled after a promotion to High-A where he had 28.6% K rate and 6.3% BB rate.
  24. @tyreque__reed I need baseball in my life Honestly? Same.
  25. Minor League Round: Sox take Tyreque Reed - 1b Rangers AA http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?player_id=676627
