  1. Sox offense needs omph and Paredes could give it some. I originally had Hoerner higher than Paredes because of the defense. Not a fan of Shaw. He'd cost a lot too.
  2. I didn't want him at 3b. Why move Raffy off 3b just to get older RHB Raffy next season? Paredes>Hoerner>>Donovan>Shaw If it's not Paredes or Hoerner, I'm not sure I'm interested TBH.
  3. I can't really be worried about the other 29 teams, just what the Red Sox are doing TBH. If Suarez is a 3b/DH, many teams already have that spot taken. Some teams just won't pay 15M for a DH. That pushes the amount of teams willing to sign Suarez down to a select few TBH.
  4. Well, he didn't mash in winter ball. He played ok in AAA at the end of the year. He'd really need to start turning it on for that to happen. His competition is Romy/Eaton, someone else? Since Hamilton is a LHB, it's a different roster spot.
  5. 4 years of Triolo, but he hasn't hit much above high A. He plays great defense, but just seems like a UTIL guy. He's projected to be the starting 3b for PITT and I think a sub 700 guy can work there, not sure it's a great fit here. Low exit velo and barrel rate. He'll be 28 on Sunday, so he's not exactly young. I'm sure the Sox could make a package for him out of some of their stock of arms if they really wanted. IMO, he's a step up from David Hamilton, but not enough to meaningfully improve the team. Romy isn't a great 2b. They'll probably go with a Hamilton/Romy platoon at 2b if they don't go outside the org. If Hamilton's bat stays at '25 levels, they'll acquire someone midseason or call up someone from WOO. I have no idea what KC has. I'm hopeful that his bat can return to form, but don't have any faith in his glove. Maybe it can work out in the OF with his athleticism, but he just looked so awful at 2b. Not sure how well Masa would have to hit for the Sox to move him. If he hits well enough, the Sox would probably just hold onto him if Casas wasn't mashing. IDK. Lots of moving parts there.
  6. They clearly didn't believe in his glove at 3b and thought the defensive decline was real. He probably would have hit 35 HR's this year as DH, but still have Masa and Casas lingering on the 40 man. What's the plan for 2b/3b? It's down to Cubs/Cards/'Stros trade or Boras mystery team.
  7. He's a fine teammate with a crappy boss who doesn't know how to communicate.
  8. KC has been working as 2B/LF, not just 2B FWIW. Those just are his normal positions. I don't think that means he has any shot of being on the Opening Day roster.
  9. Sox never made an offer. They didn't want him to begin with. Had nothing to do with cost. 🫠
  10. Happy Truck Day. Go help pack up some bubblegum. Suck down some fumes with other fans. Enjoy the seasonal weather.
  11. I've heard from Mets fans that he is more of a UTIL guy than a fulltime player and doesn't really have the chops for 3b.
  12. This is a trade if you are the ChiSox and you really like Sandlin's stuff. This is a trade if you are the BoSox and you are really concerned with going over a certain CBT threshold and don't believe in Sandlin as a bullpen guy.
  13. When they have 4 OFers AND Masa, Romy isn't platooning for Abreu. Why would they ever throw him out to RF in Fenway? Doesn't make sense. The guy they'd platoon Abreu with (if they had to) is Eaton.
  14. Yes, Hamilton/Romy is the platoon. Hamilton just gets most of the PA's as he faces RHP.
  15. Not ideal as I don't want Romy platooning at 3b. Maybe they'll be platooning Donovan?
  16. Nobody is snorting coke of alligators this weekend... maybe frozen iguanas. Just stressed out about some work stuff because of the "severe" cold.
  17. It's January 30th! Promote Arias? He didn't even OPS 700 in AA. What would promoting him further do? KC struggled to hit AAA pitching in '24 and is a terrible 2b. If he's in the picture, I don't think it looks good for 2026. The bottom half of the lineup would be KC/Marcelo/Narvaez/Rafaela. There's upside, but a low floor.
  18. The risk to Bregman is the Sox eat half the contract and trade him with two years left or something similar. He gets his money, but has to upend his life again. Sox putting that line in the sand doesn't make much sense if others around the league are providing them. Why disadvantage yourself?
