First 14 games: 1237 OPS
Since then: 671 OPS
I don't think he's going to figure it out. Seems like he never was able to adjust.
For reference, Arroyo has a 643 career OPS (719 since 2018).
Yup. They aren't slotting him into a closer's role or anything. He's just a guy to stash in WOO. They already have much better options to round out this year's pen, which they didn't have last year at this time.
I think they've already hinted that they are fine with Arroyo starting. I think we saw at the end of the year that Chavis was phased out of 2b. He only appeared at 2b in 4 games (even partial) last September. His defense is just bad which is why he wound up with more innings in LF than 2b after having zero professional innings in the OF prior to 2020.

If they could keep Arauz on the roster for a full year, they definitely can keep Whitlock on the roster. Whitlock is a much more valuable player. It'd be dumb to return him.
I could see taking Happ over Eovaldi due to Eovaldi's health concerns. Perez is sturdy, 8+ years younger and has a higher fWAR over the past 2 seasons. Pivetta is a post prospect who isn't a lock to make the opening day roster.
Perez > Happ > Eovaldi > Pivetta
Eovaldi has a higher ceiling than the others, but he'd need to stay healthy for once.
Bloom's thoughts on 2021:
1. "You're gonna see a really hungry group."
2. "Gonna be more exciting than the narrative is saying."
3. "Not only are we competitive in 21 but you can get excited for saying that I can see very clearly where the arrow is pointing."
4. "We got a great chance of surprising people in 2021."
