    Service time is meaningless to this team. You can always use the option later in the season once you're out of it.

    He shouldn't go over by 20-30M every year because it's bad business. He should go over by that some years. Since they already reset last year, it makes little sense to stay under this year. They can always reset later on. Just don't sign extensions to injured pitchers (Eovaldi, Sale).

    They aren't going to get anything of value except tax relief if they deal him. Makes little sense to move him unless you just pine for the thickness of Henry's wallet.

    The Sox don't need to worry about service time. Especially not for a guy who isn't even a top 5 prospect.

    They might not be playoff contenders, but they'll be closer to .500 at the very least.

    Using him to piggy back an opener is a fine option to stretch him out.

    I think that they have enough payroll flexibility in the coming years that they can be ready probably in 2022. I think being in WC contention is basically the same as being a PO contender. Are the Jays considered a playoff contender?
