  1. The 33-year-old right-hander ranked among the elite closers in all of baseball before missing a large majority of the truncated 2020 season due to an elbow issue that would eventually require a minor surgery. He is expected to be fully recovered by the beginning of spring training in 2021 and would be a good low-risk gamble for a range of different clubs if the reported asking price is accurate.
  2. Did some research on it. July 27, 2015 Word of the Week: Janky Janky: Of extremely poor or unreliable quality. U.S. slang (chiefly African-American); earliest citations are from the early 1990s. Sometimes intensified as janky-ass or truncated as jank. Janky was one of a clutch of words added to OxfordDictionaries.com in February 2015. (Other additions included vishing, McTwist, and teachable moment.) The word’s origin is murky; the more comprehensive Oxford English Dictionary says it’s “probably” a regional, affected, or colloquial pronunciation of junky. Juba to Jive: A Dictionary of African-American Slang, published in 1994, classifies it as a noun meaning “bad luck,” and says it’s “probably” a variant of jinxed.
  3. If Beni is traded, they'll need another guy. I wonder if the talk about trading Beni is just smokescreen for them moonwalking through FA so far?
  4. Does his versatility increase his AAV? If so, may be better to get a 2b only guy. Unless, they expect Downs to move up quickly and will let Kike move around once that happens. What if they sign Kike AND someone like Schoop?
  5. Just remember, Sox only have 5.3M to spend. $2M already accounted for.
  6. Ready for more? https://twitter.com/JamieGatlin17/status/1350089921575448577
  7. https://twitter.com/gjf3424/status/1349818514257928192 More Ravelo fielding video. This may become a Ravelo stan account.

  9. https://twitter.com/tylermilliken_/status/1350093348988588033 This thread has video of the 3 guys above. Ravelo looks to have a slick glove.
  10. If Bloom tries to go with some janky ass 2020 roster again......
  11. Also, apologies for not making Kike an option in the poll.
  12. @ChrisCotillo Sources: Red Sox have been in touch with many free agent 2B options, including Kiké Hernandez, Kolten Wong, Cesar Hernandez and Dee Strange-Gordon. Generally, talks have been preliminary. Multiple people involved believe this market will open up with LeMahieu off the board. Not sure I've seen DSG listed with the Sox before.
  13. @JesseSanchezMLB Source: #RedSox agree to $525K deal with SS Luis Ravelo. @mlbpipeline .
  14. https://twitter.com/MLBPipeline/status/1256400331321356289 Bleis, reportedly signed 1.5 with BOS.
  15. From above: "The fact that MLB.com is now listing Verdugo as a CF."
  16. Can you provide us with the list of approved topics to discuss? There's not much else to chit chat about over here.
  17. @JeffPassan Second baseman DJ LeMahieu and the New York Yankees are finalizing a six-year, $90M contract, sources familiar with the agreement tell ESPN. LeMahieu’s return to New York always felt inevitable. It took a while. But he wanted to be there and Yankees get top free agent target.
  18. Now that players are starting to sign, they need to actually get a move on.
  19. The list: Trout Bellinger Springer Verdugo Nimmo Lewis Laureano Grisham Marte Buxton The video on Verdugo: https://www.mlb.com/video/search?q=ContentTags%20%3D%20%5B%22mlbn-top10%22%5D%20Order%20by%20Timestamp%20DESC Basically, they say he's likely to play CF this year, that he played CF in 18-19 and that he could hit in the middle of any order.
  20. @SoxProspects Today marks the start of the international amateur free agent signing period. The Red Sox are expected to be busy, as usual.
  21. The fact that MLB.com is now listing Verdugo as a CF.
  22. Sox PR sending out signals that they aren’t signing another OF this offseason.
  23. My concern level is a 5 out of 10 now.
  24. I think I'd rather get COVID than have Billy Hamilton be the starting CFer.
