  1. And not listing the Marcus Wilson’s of the world makes the direct comparisons hard.
  2. An upgrade from Beni.
  3. I don't know of any place that records 40 man rosters, but here's the bottom of the 40 man from the end of 2013: Andrew Bailey Lavarnway Villareal Alex Wilson Dan Butler Alex Castellanos Drake Britton Alex Hassan Ryan Kalish - post injury
  4. I don't think there's a chance they give up on Whitlock. It's easy enough to stash a Rule V guy, especially now that rosters are larger and they'll need all the arms they can get with a 6 man rotation.
  5. @PeteAbe Jared Porter worked for the #RedSox from 2004-15. Team president Sam Kennedy: "We are not aware of any occasion in which Jared Porter did not comply with our workplace policies during his time as a member of the Red Sox front office."
  6. 1. He values years of control and Beni only has 2 years left. 2. He trusts that his scouting department can find an adequate replacement. 3. Trading Beni opens the door for a larger move in LF (Ozuna?).
  7. When you said "lose for nothing" I didn't realize you meant PTBNL.
  8. FWIW, here's Fangraphs take on 6 man rotations: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-costs-and-benefits-of-six-man-rotations/
  9. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/martin-perez-dons-the-red-sox-again/ From Jaffe's notes on Martin Perez signing: Meanwhile, chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom is reportedly considering the possibility of a six-man rotation given the increased workloads his starters will face. If that's that's the case, Andriese, Perez, ERod, Pivetta, Houck and Eovaldi would be the starting 6 on Opening Day unless they sign some other guys. Not sure I'm into that plan. I know you need/want to limit innings for ERod/Houck/Eovaldi/Sale, but I'm not sure that a 6 man rotation is the best way to go about it.
  10. Manny is available. He was just cut from his AUS team.
  11. Would you want to work in the Bronx?
  12. I grabbed that from SoxProspects. My guess is most places follow the same formula.
  13. I don't think Mazza is head and shoulders above any of those guys. I thought Springs looked like an MLB reliever at times last year. However, I don't want him closing out games like they had him do in 2020. You could probably make a case for any of those guys staying instead of the others (except for Pedroia).
  14. I appreciate that they just compile info from everywhere. I don't have the time to check 10 different websites about which C level player the Sox will sign next.
  15. Prospects - A player will generally graduate from prospect status once he exhausts his MLB "rookie" status." Rookie status is exhausted once a player: (1) has more than 130 at-bats in the majors; (2) has pitched more than 50 innings in the majors; (3) has been on an active major league roster for more than 45 days (not including September call-ups). So Dalbec will graduate sometime in late April.
  16. Yeah, I think MLBTR relies on everyone else for their info.
  17. I could see Walden getting picked up, but I don't think you'd fret about losing him. If I was able to keep one of those players, it would be Mazza.
  18. @Rotoworld_BB Report: Blue Jays are a "finalist' for Kirby Yates
  19. Potential cuts: Brewer Brice Mazza Springs Walden Pedroia Wilson
  20. Where is the 90 mph coming from? I know the very last start of 2018 that his velo dropped to 90 mph, but it was also that low on a start earlier in the season. In the playoffs that year, he was consistently hitting 96 mph on his FB. In 2019, his velo averaged only 90 mph for one start (second start of the year). The rest of the time he was averaging 91 - 95 with an overall average of 93.7.
  21. No, because it means he’ll never be traded.
  22. They signed awful contracts on the heels of a championship. Made no sense then.
