  1. Will the Sox give Eduardo Rodriguez a Qualifying Offer?
  2. In that sense, why would anyone trade for a pending rule V DFA guy? However, there would be no guarantee that Jimenez would be available when the A's draft and Potts and Rosario could pick any team, not necessarily the A's. Again, BTV is not real life though. It may be a good measure of actual value.
  3. And the fact that the Braves and Chiefs just ripped it from FSU, but continue to fight against getting rid of it is DUMB.
  4. Hammer time.
  5. Bassit/Puk/Trivino for Jimenez/Seabold/Potts/Rosario
  6. Never.
  7. I wasn't saying it was Blaze or Casas, just that there were specific reasons I put the offensive players on the list. The pitchers are put on there because the Sox usually have a lack of pitching prospects. Blaze is probably better than Wilkelman, but I think the Sox have a greater need for Wilkelman.
  8. I don't like the Astros players and I don't like the Braves fans. Hard to have a rooting interest. I guess it would be for the Stros to win in 7 and send the Braves fans home unhappy?
  9. I think 700 OPS is very reasonable for him. I don't think the Sox would expect him to play more than 100 games.
  10. Blaze is very interesting and I did give second thoughts to including him on my list. I just think his profile (corner IF, power first) isn't that hard to come by through other means. I think Mayer could be a generational overall talent. I think Yorke could have a generational hit tool. Casas is on the cusp of making the team and providing everyday AB's at an important position that has been kind of a hole for the past few years.
  11. No, the assignments are to share the postseason $$$ with as many umps as possible, especially senior ones.
  12. Sign me up for Mize or Skubal.
  13. IDK, if I turn on a weekend game and Angel Hernandez is behind home plate, it clears up my schedule and I can just turn the game off.
  14. If I had to, mainly because Rosario's bat is just so behind. Hasn't OPS'd above 700 since low A in 2018. I think you could find a glove first OFer elsewhere if some other team claimed him. Vs RHP, Jimenez OPS'd 805. Right now, he's Duran without the power, but not as clueless in the field. I think he still has a decent ceiling. I don't know if the Sox are comfortable with storing both of them on the 40 man, unless they really see Rosario as being able to be an up and down guy in emergency situations (a la Arauz).
  15. I'm fine with dealing any and all of those guys for a good return. The guys I'd prefer to hold onto are Casas, Yorke, Mayer, Bello and Wilkelman Gonzalez. I'd have to be bowled over with an offer to move on those guys.
  16. I'm on board and my brain is expecting only half of that to happen.
  17. Also, whatever heartbreak we have for the woman who was murdered, I'm sure Jerry felt much more profound grief than many of us will ever know.
  18. I'm also not sure what else Remy could have done? Tough love? Therapy? I'm not sure there is anything out there that could have turned Jared around.
  19. I just liked his socks.
  20. No, it was not having a black hole at 2b, having a CF that could actually hit, having a 1b that could actually hit, JD regaining his swing, ERod coming back healthy, Sale providing a decent 1/2 year, getting 30 GS out of Pivetta, the additions of Ottavino/Sawamura and a full season of Taylor in the pen. The 2020 Sox were 29th in starter IP and dead last in WHIP (top 4 starters were Perez, Eovaldi, Mazza and Godley). For relief, the 2020 Sox were 28th in WHiP and dead last in runs given up. Just getting mediocre pitching results really turned the team around. The 2020 Sox were just a dreadful squad. Embarrassing.
  21. I've leaned that way for a while. I think I said it was 60/40. There's a decent chance he stays, but it's more likely he's gone (which I'm actually ok with). I don't see the need for this version of the Sox to spend big money on a DH.
  22. Sox went 8-11 against the Rays last year. That accounts for 6 of those games back. Finding 2 other games in your schedule shouldn't be that hard to do. Plus, I don't think we can automatically plug the Rays in for another 100 win season.
  23. Yes, there is a big difference between 90 and 95%. We're not talking a calculus exam. This is the difference between one out of every 10 pitches being wrong and one out of every 20 pitches. Why MLB continues to put bad umps in high profile positions is beyond me.
  24. It's going to be a bit of a tightrope walk. I'm assuming that Potts will be DFA'd, but they keep Rosario. Rosario, Ronaldo Hernandez, Mata and Groome are already on the 40 man roster and will most likely not have a role on the 2022 MLB squad. How many slots do you really want to fill on the 40 man with guys that can't help the big club?
  25. Critics of robots OR robots that critique?
