It's now his third season here in Boston. Has he skipped anyone significant past AAA yet?

Realistically, I think there's a very good chance that it could get really ugly this year (like 2012 ugly). However, with the prospect pipeline the Sox currently have (and ignoring 2020), I think this will be the low point of Bloom's tenure here.

Bloom doesn't have a history of moving guys from AA directly to MLB. I think he'll take his time with the MiLB guys. It has worked in Tampa and I need to trust that process. It may not be pretty for this year, but I think German could have an impact on the pen next year. I think a guy like Zack Kelly should be given a look this year.

This doesn't make sense. They are sad that some guys may be theoretically leaving at the end of the year. I could see that affecting Raffy, but not sure why that would bother Story/JBJ/Kiké/Dalbec...

It's funny. The contract squabbles are so bad that the guys who are squabbling are playing f***ing great. It's just affecting the guys whose contracts aren't affected?

This team kinda stinks. The rotation has been average, but everything else has been putrid. I think the offense should come back around in the next few weeks, but this bullpen is just ugly. Without a defined bullpen role for Houck/Whitlock, the pen is just a pile of nonsense. If things don't turn around quick for Verdugo/Dalbec/Kiké and young guys stay in WOO, this team is a distant 4th and will be sellers in July. Signing Story seems to have been a mistake. Bye Xander. Bye Eovaldi. Bye JD. Bye Raffy.

Zack Kelly deserves a shot. I'm not sure what other arms they want to see in the pen. If they'd rather keep Winckowski and Seabold in the rotation, I'm not sure where they help out right now.

Does Crawford have any value? Teams know he can't play in Toronto. He's been hit around a little.

I get the distrust of Brasier, but he's been ok. The only worrying thing is that the ball is getting hit hard off him (bottom 1% in the league). Maybe it'll be his turn to pay the piper next.

You don't need to look at blown saves to see how bad this pen is. fWAR - 28th (IP 8th) FIP - 25th BB/9 - 24th HR/9 - 24th LOB% - 29th WHIP - 23rd

He's already on pace for 132 innings. I think he's going to be around 140 or so max this year. I think that's the goal.

Whitlock is probably the 2nd best pitcher on the team. He should be a starter.
