  1. Andrus had 3.5 fWAR last year. It was his highest wRC+ since 2017 though.
  2. 2019: 203M 2022: 195M Just a trim please.
  3. They were already kicking the tires on Heaney and he's going to be over 10...
  4. 1. Because it should be easy to replace a starting pitcher who had a 5.50 ERA even if it's with a guy with a different name on the back of the jersey. The contract coming off the books should be a benefit, no? 2. You mentioned "what Bloom was handed" and I'm sure COVID is outside that scope.
  5. I think a lot of fans are easily riled up by whatever poisoned tripe the mainstream sports media wants to feed them today. Hard pass.
  6. It's hard to complain about "budget constraints" for a team that can go over the luxury tax threshold all willy nilly.
  7. It's not a good season by any stretch, but it's not the end of the world some people have made it out to be.
  8. 78 wins isn't the end of the world, Spanky.
  9. And that's the real issue at play. For better or worse, he'll be the one to take the blame even if he really doesn't make all the calls.
  10. BTV Minor Overpay Alert: Paxton Berti Bleday Cabrera Soler Stallings Well, I think Bloom should do it even if it is an overpay.
  11. I think that's why there isn't a realistic chance they sign 2 SP's.
  12. Plus a lack of critical thinking skills.
  13. Pythagoras had them as an 87 win team in 2019. That includes Eovaldi's 6 ERA and Porcellos 5.5 ERA, two items that could easily be better the next season.
  14. It's the last place finish while going over the luxury tax threshold and letting your franchise SS walk out the door just a few years after the future HOF RFer was shipped to LA because he was too expensive even though the cost to take your family to a game is 2 car payments.
  15. What budget constraints? They went over the luxury tax threshold last season.
  16. Is he healthy?
  17. It's not that these guys "jumped" it's that they weren't even in the system as they were just drafted.
  18. Abreu's drop makes sense as he's played worse since coming here. OPS AA Corpus Christi 858 AA Portland 784 AFL Scottsdale 479
  19. You were the big Seabold proponent last season. If his "stuff" comes back to 2020 levels, he's a top 10 prospect. I think he's high just because he has starter upside. He's behind a guy like Murphy as he's lost a lot of luster, but there's still an outside shot of him doing something.
  20. Downs is sill higher because of proximity. He's close enough to at least be a utility guy going forward. Other guys around him may never make it at all. The position player right after Downs is Abreu, which makes sense as they don't really see him as an everyday MLB guy either. The pitchers right below Downs are generally pretty far away or are relievers. The other position players nearby are Ronaldo at 32 and Binelas at 33. I'd have Downs much higher than either of those guys too.
  21. Signing two starting pitchers moves Paxton and Whitlock to the pen most likely. Pen: Jansen Paxton Whitlock Houck Schreiber Barnes Kelly Joely
  22. Plausible? Yes.
  23. What are you trying to say about what the previous GM did to the farm, moon?
  24. Under Duke, they did have a 78-84 record in 97 and a .470 winning % in 94. They weren't a consistently good team until Pedro showed up.
  25. Correa 35 Senga 18 Taillon 18 Jansen 16 Brantley 10 I'm coming out to 97ish. Are you expecting bigger savings on Taillon and Senga? I think I'd still nab Kluber over Taillon. Not sure if he'd be cheaper or not. I'd be really surprised if they are able to sign 2 SP's.
