  1. Something a little less than this due to Jhoan's years of control. Maybe you just get one prospect instead of two? 4. Phillies acquire RHP Jhoan Duran from Twins for C Eduardo Tait and RHP Mick Abel (July 30) One of the hottest available names in the reliever market came off the board as the Phillies added significant firepower to their bullpen in the form of Duran, who brings with him triple-digit fastball velocity and secondary stuff to match. Duran pitched to a 2.01 ERA with 53 strikeouts in 49 1/3 innings for the Twins this season. Tait, the Phillies' No. 4 prospect as ranked by MLB Pipeline, is an 18-year-old backstop with power potential who was recently promoted to High-A. Abel, ranked No. 2 in Philadelphia's system for several years after he was drafted, had since fallen to No. 6, but he's continued showing improvement, posting a 2.31 ERA in 13 starts as a 23-year-old in Triple-A in 2025.
  2. I don't remember this. I'm sure somebody called them a suspect or something.
  3. Oh sure. Hard to be one of the worst 5 players in MLB year in and year out if given several chances. How many chances should he get though?
  4. At his best, he was towards the top of the leader board in 2b's. He went to a park that is 27th in park factor for 2b's. Of course his numbers would go down. '25: 21 2b Away 9 2b Home
  5. Don't care. Breggie's ipad worked for Roman.
  6. Noted team leader and game planner has improve CHC's wRC+ by 4 points. BOS's wRC+ has tanked without him and his ipad.
  7. I don't think Bennett is a great swap for Gray. Gray is a 2-3. Bennett is really #5. Use the cost savings on offense though. Eyanson might take over for Bennett midyear.
  8. Happy Birthday to Rick Cerone, Wally Snell and Connor Wong!
  9. If punting on this year and potentially next. Actually resetting the franchise the way they should have done in '22.

  11. The only way they are going to get better is for the younger players to come into their own. THAT'S ALWAYS BEEN THE CASE!
  12. The second part is the biggest hedge of all time. The first part can be measure in so many ways that it is virtually meaningless.
  13. Who cares if Contreras doesn't contribute to a postseason run? They need to have a plan to replace him whether they make the playoffs or not. It's not like there is a window that closes after 2027.
  14. Wells - 2011 Hamilton - 2012 Pujols - 2011 Upton - 2017 Cozart - 2018 Rendon - 2019 You can't deride the entirety of FA based on how terribly the Angels are run. That's like saying "I'm never going to eat another slice of pizza ever again" after only trying Cici's Pizza.
  15. They don't need it to. Just this year and next. Even if it falls off slightly next season, he'll still probably be a top of the order bat. For example, the analysis includes Judge "declining" from a career high of 220 to falling to a pathetic 204!
  16. Also, is this analysis (or lack thereof) sticking a fork in Aaron Judge (age 34)?
  17. Even just going back to the Mike Lowell days. 2008 14 guys with 20+ HR 10 guys with 800+ OPS
  18. Red Sox 11th in H 6th in BB 14th in fWAR 6th in OBP 15th wOBA 19th in wRC+ 19th in OPS
