  1. Frank Thomas May 1994: 25G .452 .593 .988 1.581 OPS 83 TB 31/11 BB/K
  2. How do you know what Bloom thinks? Are you a mind reader? Because you could be making much better use of that talent.
  3. Why is it an excuse? It's common sense. The schedule exposed the pitching, which we all knew was weak.
  4. We're cousins? I'm too brown for that bro.
  5. You know this site like the back of your hand.
  6. His profile against all types of pitches tells me the batting eye and power are there, but his inability to hit offspeed (.172 BA, 89.5 EV) and breaking pitches (206 BA, 90.5 EV) most likely hides a loss in bat speed, meaning he's cheating fastball. Patience and power age well, but you need to be able to hit secondary pitches to survive in MLB. Also, dude's headed for his second straight 200K season. That is insane.
  7. I like Snell too, but not for big money.
  8. Matt Chapman last three seasons: .228/.324/.422, .746 OPS, 109 OPS+, 69 HR (nice!), 78 2B, 5 3B. Doesn't quite scream "elite power bat" to me.
  9. I will stand in it then. He'll be team captain, they'll call him The Mayor, and he'll remind all of us of the good times with Pedroia.
  10. Max said it and he's right. Adapting the old adage told to Dominican prospects, you don't catch into the Major Leagues, you hit into the Major Leagues.
  11. I said what I said and I stand by it.
  12. Homers are cool, but otherwise, Schwarber is not a stellar offensive player. The smart money is on Yoshida improving after his first year in MLB, and Schwarber's offensive profile further declining. Not even mentioning defense since both suck.
  13. I said what I said and I stand by it.
  14. I'll bet dollars to doughnuts Mayer isn't going anywhere and will be team captain by late '25.
  15. The Dodgers and Astros (both teams the Sox are trying to emulate) are not afraid to dip their toes into the FA market for elite pitching if they think the guys can physically hold up and ask for consent before banging college girls (I like your yt channel though Trevor). So a guy like Yamamoto should be a target for the Sox.
  16. It will be a bidding war, as I have been saving my pesos to buy it too. When I buy it, I will rename it to "Bloom's Boomers", and ban anyone who speaks ill of our lord and savior.
  17. That's what's really frustrating IMO. We know the pitching situation is not ideal, but this team should score runs in bunches.
  18. That's what I mean. If he opens the purse strings and get at least one impact starting pitcher, you know this was part of their plan all along. Otherwise, Bloom is probably done. The one true thing here is that none of us know what the plan is, what Henry thinks, or what Bloom thinks, and no one on here should pretend like they do.
  19. Red Sox team DRS: 2004: -27, 24th in the Majors. 2007: 2, 14th in the Majors 2013: 22, 11th in the Majors 2018: 15, 12th in the Majors This has never been a team foundationally built on defense. And they have the pieces coming up through the system to drastically improve this defense anyway. This team needs starting pitching.
  20. Not a fan of creating a pitching staff out of buying expensive pitching, but they'll have to dip into the FA market eventually.
  21. No offense, but I don't think ownership cares what works for us. We'll see how Henry truly feels about Bloom's performance this offseason.
