  1. Historically, the Sox have not been very good defensive teams. But why not optimoze the defensive alignment wherever possible? A lineup with good offense and decent defense can win you a lot of games even with mediocre pitching.
  2. That would get us another 4th place finish. Yamamoto plz.
  3. Oy vey with the Casas trade talk.
  4. Julio Urias arrested on domestic violence charges Still want Wifebeater Julio, friends?
  5. Both he an 'Guire are relatively young, and could improve somewhat still, as catchers tend to really hit their stride much later than other position players.
  6. Teel is not f***ing around
  7. Gotta score runs, but also gotta prevent them. They can improve some aspects of the defense without sacrificing offense.
  8. Chapman doesn't do it for me. And I don't think he'll be coming here, but maybe they think they can turn back the clock with his offensive approach? He may be suffering the effects of constantly being dinged up. He sure can get it at 3B though.
  9. Bloom is going nowhere. I'll bet dollars to yen he's done exactly what Henry wanted him to at the org level, even if his MLB results have left something to be desired. I think the real test begins this offseason. Note: This isn't about what I personally think of our Lord and Savior Chaim Bloom, but rather what I think has actually been his performance in the eyes of good ol' Reptile JH.
  10. Good point.
  11. It does if you overcommit. But it works out for other teams if they manage for risk. I wouldn't sign a deal like the one the Rangers gave "On the shelf Jacob De", but I'd sign several pitchers at market value in a post I made before.
  12. This is a fair take.
  13. Oh, the book on guys is on hand before they ever reach the Majors.
  14. I said multiple times betting on people coming back from injuries would bite this team in the ass.
  15. Fire Bloom! Fire Cora! DFA Yoshida! DFA Casas! DFA Bello! DFA Crawford!
  16. Trading Casas and Duran would be stupid. They can just buy pitching. They can sign a young guy long term, and a cheaper option like Montgomery or an older guy (not Kluber) to fill out their rotation without sacrificing their own offensive depth. The talk about trading Casas specifically is idiocy. He's cost controlled and can flat out hit. Stop.
  17. That Rizzo played that long while concussed is not a good look for the Yankees org.
  18. Yeah, Sale is a sunk cost.
  19. Devers is also a great offensive player who has some untapped potential left. The move made sense, regardless of circumstance.
  20. Great logic, great post. I think this is really Bloom's make or break offseason. The farm is on point, so if they'll ever loosen the purse strings, it should be now.
  21. Good post until you shot yourself in the foot in the end. Why trade two good to great offensive players when we can just buy pitching in the offseason.
  22. He also can't spell, which gives me a headache.
  23. I get that you're trying to make a joke, but Mookie wasn't even 28 when he was traded. Make it make sense at least.
  24. So we're assuming a guy who's not even 30, with a great offensive skillset, who's had one bad month while adjusting to a new league and country is a sunk cost for 2024? Y'all are f***ing ridiculous.
