I mean, Wander Franco, for example, has growing up to do, as in, he needs to stop banging underage girls. Tim Anderson has some growing up to do because he needs to stop being so bush league and running his mouth, only to get knocked the f*** out by a tiny dominican. Justin Verlander has some growing up to do, because he's a diva and rubbed everyone in the Mets clubhouse the wrong way. Which of these "needs to grow up scenarios" has Devers demonstrated a proficiency in? Dude plays hard, doesn't showboat, and keeps his mouth shut. He showed some frustration, and so what? He's a human being. Just stop pretending like y'all know the guy and he's an immature crybaby. Sheesh.

    They gave Devers all that money because they expect him to improve his pitch selection and swing decisions with a bit more maturity, because the guy has one of the best batted ball profiles in the Majors. He mashes.

    Every player in the history of MLB has been streaky, to an extent. It's just the nature of the game. Also of note. Devers had a bad May, as did the rest of the team, but other than that his worst OPS in a month was June with an .815 mark.
