  1. The earlier post by Jacko simply reinforces the notion that he is a tool of such epic proportions that there is simply no way to measure his douchebaggery. I'll keep calling you out on your conflicting opinions and bias, and feel free to get butthurt and make statements like that one, since it simply reinforces the notion that you bring very little to the table because of your bias and general douchebaggerie. Feel free to respond as you will, since you have set the notion all by yourself.
  2. @YOTN: Well i could flip the f*** out like Dutchy after the drunk-posting debacle, but i won't. The truth of the matter is that mods are supposed to be unbiased, like SOTK, MSU, and Coco, and if you judge people on the fact that for some reason, you don't like them on a personal level, you're not being a good mod. The funny thing is that some posters get away with harrassing new posters and accusing them of being an old poster, being douchebags, or issuing personal attacks on a constant basis, but people that used to post a lot like me or a700 were moving targets for some people. Take this RWTP character for instance, i attacked his post, he attacked me personally, so i retaliated. (i'm talking about the old thread by the way). But the mods don't like me (insert sad face here) so i'm the bad guy. Look at Jacko jumping all the SoxFanforLife due, he's a good new poster, he makes sense, he likes the forum, but he's getting personally attacked, even being called pink hat, now, it's Jacko, so he can get away with it, if i do it, i'm getting an angry PM from yeszir jumping all over my balls. Now the reason the site isn't as lively as it used to be has a lot to do with the double standards exhibited by part of the mod team. If you're going to implement rules, implement them for everyone, which is why i'd always reply ******** with ********. I'm not saying i didn't start a lot of the shitstorms, but i sure as hell didn't start all of them. Same for Emmz, she got harrassed by "some" on the site to the post where she barely posts anymore, but some mods didn't "like"her because she had similar thoughts as me on a lot of things. Where were the angry PM's defending her from harrasment? Ted too, i used to give the guy a lot of s***, but we talked off-site and he knew everything was in good fun, but where the angry PM's defending him? In the end, unless the double standard stops, and you decide to measure everyone with the same stick, the activity will continue to decrease to the point where, like Jacko himself said after Crespo was banned "Next thing you know, the site is a graveyard". You could have just banned me and diony instead of sabotaging the IP range, and creating the "Gift of the heavens"" as you call it, but it would have been an unjustified banning, i presume. Well you can ban me now if you want, seeing as i'm not "liked" because i say what i think and respond when people attack me (not saying i don't start s*** though), but of course, it's seen as though i'm always the one on the attack. Oh, and something could certainly be learned from SOTK's and MSU's way of moderating. Just saying. Please continue to allow the "liked"posters to do whatever they while most guys who actually bring something to the site leave or get banned.
  3. Now everyone loves Beltre and Cameron. Oh, and Lowrie probably isn't playing because they want to keep him healthy and productive, so he probably won't play many day games after night games. Hermida sucks at everything. And Nava's a "Fan favorite"already? I usually don't defend Tito, but Cameron seems to have lingering problems with his abdominal strain which may explain his absence from the lineup. Can't blame him for things he can't control. He's still pretty bad though. Oh, and i find people who make jokes about Drew when he's on pace for a high in games played with the Sox very amusing, as if they could play with a strained hamstring. I also find the people who laugh at the jokes amusing, but that's just me. Glad to see Beckett looking good.
  4. Dice-K 07-10 WHIP: 1.38 Beckett 07-10 WHIP: 1.21 Dice-K's WHIP is horrible, but then again, he's Dice-K.
  5. There's simply nowhere to hide stupidity, as my dad always used to say. The crux of the argument: While injuries have taken their toll on the lineup, they can still score runs, and when they do, it's not always because of some stupid excuse "The pitcher was dizzy, the manager should have taken him out" blablaba. Texas has some good pitching, which is the reason they're a contender, so i suppose if the Yankees get shut down a couple times by some good pitching i'll pronounce their offense dead in the water? The stats (You know, those that Jaco likes so much when they suit his argument) show that, while weakened, the Sox lineup can still produce, but a couple of good pitchers on good nights can shut down anyone, not just the Sox. But please, continue to make excuses when the Sox hit a good pitcher or when they go on a tear for a couple weeks (even with the scrubs) then conveniently ignore these topics you're now bringing up. It's typical.
  6. What. The. f***? The Sox actually beat Texas with Lee on the mound and Lackey pitching for them? LOL! Can't wait to see what Jacko makes up as an excuse tomorrow to avoid giving credit to the Sox.
  7. If you were a chick, i'd marry you, even though you're a Yankees fan.
  8. I think 26 was trying to make a point here, but i kind of lost it among the sheer amount of numbers that comprise the Yankee payroll. The rest of the MLB is not in the same universe as the Yankees when it comes to spending, and it's a simple manner of identifying investment/return. Baseball is a business, and usually, the teams that make the most money, spends the most money, and no one makes or spends as much money as the Yankees. It's the way the system is set up, and they're not the only ones who take advantage, but trying to downplay the difference in spending power because the luxury tax threshold was broken is like trying to hide the sun with a finger.
  9. As much as it pains me to say it, Jacko's right, the Sox farm system is currently extremely bottom-heavy due to the amount of prospects either graduating or being used as trade chips.
  10. You want substance? It's all in the stats, which you conveniently ignore when it doesn't support your argument (as in, most of the time). Let's check out the Sox slash stats month per month: May: .815 OPS June: .878 OPS July: .774 OPS Through the "rash of injuries" the Sox have maintained one of the best cumulative month-by-month OPS in the majors, now you can make up as much s*** as you want, but it is what it is, and the stats don't lie. Ignoring the stats is what i would consider "lack of substance".
  11. If the truth can be considered sour grapes, then i have a serious case of sour grapes. You also seem to not know the meaning of strawman. Look it up.
  12. Reality: The Red Sox have paced the Majors in offense most of 2010. Jacko perception: Since the offseason, the "Sox are going to have trouble scoring runs!!!!" drum number one beater. Reality: The Red Sox have hit good pitching quite proficiently. Jacko perception: The Red Sox can't hit good pitching. Reality: The Red Sox offense has been middle-of-the-order reliant all season long, with the scrubs making some timely contributions. Jacko perception: The Red Sox offense just now became middle-of-the-order reliant. Yeah someone obviously has their head up their ass here. But what do i know? I just look at the reality of things instead of trying to predict the future and make stuff up, which Jacko seems to find hilarious (because making stuff up and trying to predict the future is his forte).
  13. Dude, you've been anticipating the lineup getting exposed since, like, May. Getting shut down a couple times by good pitching isn't "getting exposed", it's the nature of the game. Did the Yankees offense get "exposed" when Felix shut them down?
  14. Jacko's perception oif reality when it pertains to the Red Sox is always just a little geared towards the negative. The team keeps hitting, but the pitching, like Yaz said, (Who's obviously Dutchy because he disagrees with something Jacko said), the team has dealt with the "rash of injuries" all season long and has stayed in the top of most offensive categories, the one true black hole we currently sport is Catcher, and V-Mart will be back soon. The SP sorely needs Buch and Beckett, or a lot of back-to-back losses are in store with "Bad Wake" and Doubront pitching back-to-back.
  15. John Lackey doesn't have 5 months pitching on the Red Sox. Classifying him as "one of the biggest stiffs" you have ever seen is asinine. Errors are the worst way to measure a fielder's defensive ability, and Scutaro rates pretty well in most defensive metrics, just like Beltre, and i wonder what would be of this team if not for Scutaro filling the Texas-sized gap left atop the lineup by Ellsbury's injury.
  16. Lol@ Bengie Molina hitting for the cycle. The walking wounded can't come back soon enough.
  17. Red Sox slash stats with runners on, and RISP: .277/.360/.490 .850 Best in the Major Leagues. .281 .371 .492 .864 Best in the Major Leagues. This is why stats are useful.
  18. Go to baseball reference, and look for the team. The splits are located under the "batting" tab. If you're looking for the Sox by the way, their 2010 line is: .281 .371 .492 .864
  19. Incorrect. Top three pitchers in the AL: Cliff Lee Jon Lester David Price. And by the way, a "negligible" advantage is still an advantage. When and if CC reaches the statistical exellence Cliff Lee has shown this season (0.95 WHIP in 112 IP with a 15.17 K/BB) you can rank CC above Lee. His eight wins are low, but he just got moved to a high-power offense, and to a difficult ballpark that probably won't hurt him very much. Stats are stats, and Price, Lester and Lee are statistically superior to Sabathia at the moment, how things unfold in the future we don't know, but currently those are the top three in the AL, and for a shot at the CY, Sabathia needs to outpitch those three.
  20. 89 PA's and 80 AB's in the Majors is not enough of a sample size to label a guy a .300 hitter in the Major Leagues, specially if he has a .415 BABIP, which is unsustainable . Now don't get me wrong, i like the kid, but let's be real here. You can use his minor league stats for reference if you want, but AA =/= MLB.
  21. The mental masturbation is nice and all, but consider the following: Jon Lester stats: W-L: 11 3 W%:.786 ERA: 2.78 IP:120.0 K:124 ERA+: 160 WHIP: 1.092 H/9:6.5 HR/9:0.5 BB/9:3.3 K/9:9.3 K/BB:2.82 CC Sabathia stats: W-L: 12 3 W%:.800 ERA: 3.09 IP:131.0 K:104 ERA+: 131 WHIP: 1.137 H/9:7.4 HR/9:0.8 BB/9: 2.8 K/9: 7.1 K/BB:2.54 Lester dominates every statistical category except wins, BB/9, IP and Win%. I saw Jacko mention how Sabathia was "better" than Lester in another thread, and this is simply not true. And by the way, baseball is played on the field, he may be a "second-half pitcher" but he has to outpitch Lester, Price and Lee, tear or no tear, to win the Cy Young. Be objective.
