  1. Pujols? Ain't going anywhere. Fielder or A-Gon? Definitely a possibility.
  2. I agree with your 13 mill figure. However, remember that because of the failures of Minaya, his succesor will probably have a different approach to re-stocking a team whose pitching is clearly flawed. Besides, the Sox have more money coming off the books, much more flexibility to accomodate V-Mart, a better stadium, and this is a place he likes. Seems like a win-win situation for the Sox if they intend to bring him back.
  3. The Mets have money? News to me. Is this the same type of money the Dodgers had saved up for Beckett? And also, Martinez is probably not getting 15 million from anyone. 4 years @ 13-14 million is most probably what he's going to get. What i'd like Jacko to do is to think of the Red Sox as the Yankees when he's going to make this assesments as i'm sure they will come out much more objectively in those circumstances.
  4. V-Mart, for some reason, sounds like a lock to stay in my head. And i'll believe Tek's gone when he signs with another club or retires.
  5. THANK THE LORD, NO MORE KEVIN CASH!!!!!!
  6. Excuse me? Brian Wilson's "two pitches that are fast" happen to be one of the best four-seamers and one of the best sliders in all of baseball. His composite numbers the last two years are near video-game level. Wilson 09-10 average numbers: 43 SV, 2.27 ERA, 10.8 K/9, 185 ERA+, 1.19 WHIP. That's upper-echelon closer production right there.
  7. Douchebags come in all shapes and sizes.
  8. It's been happening for months. Check out the "Database Errors" thread, where i complained about the same thing a couple months ago.
  9. I keep getting error messages all the time. And since i'm the only one who does, obviously something happened to my account that is making these messages appear.
  10. This site doesn't have enough bandwidth for me to type up that story..... The point is, a very smart friend of mine told me "You're here for the wrong reasons, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy your time". Sound advice.
  11. I love Michigan, but i'll get back to you on January. I probably came here for every conceivable wrong reason, but i'm making the best of my time here.
  12. That is the question.
  13. I dislike factual inaccuracy. Boston Red Sox bullpen ERA by season: 2008: 4.01 (11th in the Majors, 7th in the AL ) 2009: 3.80 ( 8th in the Majors, 2nd in the AL) 2010: 4.24 (24th in the Majors, 12th in the AL) There was no need to fix the bullpen "for the last three years". They were good in 2008, really good in 2009, and awful in 2010, which is why there is a need to fix the bullpen now.
  14. Some things never change.......the Twins bending over and letting the Yanks stick it in balls-deep is one of those things.
  15. Premise: Ron Gardenhire sucks. Discuss.
  16. Jesse Crain career vs the Yanks: .943 OPS against, 7.31 ERA in 16.0 IP (not including tonight) which is significant SS for a pitcher.
  17. One last thing. Whoever thinks this series is over needs to re-think their approach. The deciding factor will, (as usual) be Gardy. Neither team is better prepared for a short series, they both have question marks, and the games still need to be played. Pavano had a very good year and Duensing was a pleasant surprise. Hughes and Pettite are just as "liable to get shelled" as those two. And this is the playoffs. Past success doesn't mean jack s***. Unless Gardy's having his usual brain farts. Crane had NOTHING. He had no business facing Teix.
  18. Oy Vey......
  19. You three are f***ing ridiculous. As far as i'm concerned, everyone has been on their best behavior lately. So what you should do is STFU and enjoy (if that is possible after another Gardy shitfest) what's left of the goddamned game.
  20. Yup. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Way to go, Gardy.
  21. A-Rod's clutch.
