    Prospect rankings are as much a matter of projection as performance, the fact that the 20X All-Star is struggling in 142 AB's in AAA hasn't been enough to drop his stock, because not only is AAA a new level for him, but his projections remain as high as ever. Bowden, on the other hand, is getting his ass kicked at a level he's repeating, and his ceiling is reported as a back of the rotation starter. Now which of the guys in the top 20 would you place below Bowden? http://www.soxprospects.com/ Because i'd keep all of them except maybe Tazawa above Bowden, and that's because he's coming off TJS.

    This thread does lack pessimism. Let me give it a try: This team sucks, they should have scored 10 runs off this scrub. This team is the worst in the division, and i've been watching baseball for like seven years, so i know what i'm talking about. Beltre sucks, Drew sucks, Martinez sucks, Papelbon sucks. If this team had been really interested in winning instead of making money they would have signed Holliday, kept Bay, traded for Lee and Halladay, and DFA Ortiz while keeping Lowell at third. How about that for the pessimism quota?

    He won't take out Cameron. He'll leave every fly ball Beltre calls solely to him. With that abdominal tear, a knee from Beltre could wind up killing him.

    What they mean is that Atchison is not a SP, therefore he can't pitch as many innings as a SP would. It's not necessarily about results, but about the fact he doesn't have the stamina to go more than three innings. Doubront, at his best, could go six or seven, and avoid using the entire bullpen.

    Errors are not a good measure of a player's defensive ability. You watch the games, right? Then let me ask you: How many times have you seen Beltre get to a ball Lowell doesn't even get a glove on then rush a throw and get it called an E? Then compare it to: How many times have you seen Beltre get to a ball Lowell wouldn't even sniff, and make a clean throw to first, getting an out that shouldn't have been an out in the first place? Couple that with the fact that most of those errors came in April when Francona characterized his struggles as "trying too hard to impress" I.E: Being an idiot and trying to make the spectacular play. The "lost ground ball" and "taking out OF" thing were aberrations, (even though Mike Cameron swears he will never field a fly ball near Beltre ever again), and in reality, his overall numbers tell the story.

    The D-Backs are a very dangerous team regardless of what their record would indicate. Even though their bullpen sucks, they can hit the stuffing out of the ball.
