  1. Sorry Dipre. Someone had to say it. You can't let things go.
  2. Owned, you say? Whatever dude. Markakis is entering his age 27 season, so there is every reason to believe his power can re-emerge. I'm seeing HR projections in the 17-20 range. Dipre would have you believe he is a singles hitter. Markakis has hit 43 or more doubles the last 4 seasons and 45 or more the last 3. Dipre would have you believe he can only "somewhat get on base." His career OBP is .368. He hits lefties, righties, at home, and on the road. He "declining" defense is largely overstated. His range factor is better than most right fielders, as is his arm. And again, it's irrelevant to my team because he is my DH. His salary is also quite reasonable at $6.75 M. Dipre knows a lot about baseball. But his ego is far more expansive than his knowledge. As much s*** as he's recently given a700 about not losing arguments, he really should look in the mirror.
  3. Oh I forgot, Dipre never loses arguments. Why bother...
  4. He's my DH, so his defense is irrelevant. He does have a cannon in right, though. His career line against lefties is .294/.349/.433 in 965 ABs. Nothing fluky about that. Besides, I can always find someone to platoon him with if it comes down to it.
  5. It's definitely 6.75. Just double checked.
  6. Dipre and your friend gave you bad advice. He hits lefties and righties, gets on base at a good clip, and hits for a little power. He's more of a gap to gap hitter than a HR hitter, but he's still capable of hitting 15-20. And he'll be 27 this season.
  7. Nick Markakis - DH ($6.75 Million)
  8. Crafty trades by Dipre to get himself two great and one very good position player. If it's true Will could have had Hanson instead of Billingsley for Choo, he screwed himself over. Billingsley is a #2 at best. Hanson has a real good chance to be an ace.
  9. Denard Span - OF ($750,000)
  10. Sorry for the delay. Dinner. I'll make my pick in the next few minutes or so.
  11. Yes, he was. You're still up, JBay.
  12. Yeah, I didn't think I could afford to wait another round before going after him. If Rollins and Castro had still been available, my draft strategy would have been different.
  13. Rafael Furcal - SS ($8.5 Million)
  14. I think he'll rebound as well. He came on strong in the 2nd half before he hurt his wrist. Didn't necessarily want to take him in this round, but with all the good 2B gone, my hand was forced.
  15. Was wondering when someone would pick him. Beastly rotation, Y228. Gordon Beckham - 2B ($445,000)
  16. It wouldn't get high marks from me.
  17. s***, I wanted Ruiz. Colby Lewis - SP ($1.75 Million)
  18. The trades involve all of us, in one way or another. We should all be able to weigh in on these things, put in our two cents. It's not sabotage. It's discussion.
  19. If I feel a trade is not equal value, I should be allowed to voice my opinion. Same goes for anyone else.
  20. I wouldn't give him Cabrera for Oswalt or Billingsley. I'd ask for Verlander.
  21. Heath Bell - RP ($4 Million)
  22. Blast, I also wanted Dunn. And I was looking at Andrus.
  23. Nice pick. Floyd's WAR was higher than I thought it would be. Given his FIP the last 2 seasons, Floyd is either a bit unlucky or a bit of an underachiever. I happen to think both apply. Still, as 4th starters go you've got a dandy. I also like the idea of the open trade window.
  24. We all lose out on guys we're targeting at some point. I was dead set on Scherzer this round.
