  1. I'm going to send you my pick. I'll check back a little later to see if it has swung my way again.
  2. I would have to agree. He may have the stuff to be a top 5 starter down the road, but if the Rangers move him to the rotation this year, there is no way he goes beyond 150 innings. And that is not top 5 starter material. Besides, as a starter he could get exposed. He'd be like a rookie all over again. I think it's a moot point, though, because I don't see them pulling what the Yankees did with Joba.
  3. Haha, you gave these guys a fright.
  4. Oki could bounce back and still be effective. Look at Matt Capps.
  5. Wow, lot of picks in a short amount of time. Like the Prado pick. He can play 2nd and 3rd and is an ideal #2 hitter, IMO. Danks is reliable. Surprised we're dipping into the well of closers this early, but Soria is a nice choice.
  6. You didn't know the extent of his injury. In the last draft we did, in retrospect I made some horrible picks with my pitching staff. So bad I won't repeat them here.
  7. I don't mind McCann and Posey being drafted so high, Posey especially. I think his WAR could be in the 5-6 range next year.
  8. I'm not worried about Teixeira's big salary. The way I figure it I'm still going to be well under the salary cap when it's all said and done, so to me he was definitely worth every penny.
  9. In terms of salary and value, I think the biggest steals were Votto and Longoria.
  10. I'm wondering if a certain someone will go undrafted because of his salary. I'm sure someone will eventually pony up for him.
  11. Mark Teixeira - 1B ($20 Million) Really wanted another SP this round, but simply couldn't pass him up. I'm surprised he was still available, truthfully.
  12. Santana is good pick. Like some already said, coming off the knee surgery could be dicey. But he's worth the risk, IMO.
  13. Jeff Bagwell also denies it. If you ask me, he's full of s***. Notice how effusively he praises Bonds, McGwire, and Pettitte.
  14. Thanks, I'm thinking he's a likely candidate to rebound from last year. I love my outfield so far.
  15. I wouldn't worry about Hellickson's win-loss record. You either have run support and a good bullpen or you don't. It's out of his hands. He's a stud in the making.
  16. I guess, but they've pretty much established themselves as right fielders in the last 2 seasons.
  17. Weeks is a great pick, if he can stay healthy. We saw what he can do in a full season last year, and it was impressive. I think Hellickson may have been a reach because I would imagine his innings will be limited to probably around 170 or so, but he's going to be something special.
  18. Justin Upton - OF ($500,000) Just noticed that Will has two right fielders in Werth and Choo. What's up with that? Seems like a waste.
  19. Is that a record?
  20. Jacko is most definitely a homer, but he still knows his s***. I probably got on your case because you might have been too confrontational about it. You're a fair-minded guy. I respect that.
  21. Not really sure where to post this, but Oney Guillen is such a punk. He's created another Twitter shitstorm. Last summer, he slammed Kenny Williams while he was an employee for the White Sox. Now, after Bobby Jenks gave Ozzie a harsh parting shot, Oney goes off and makes a ton of personal attacks on Jenks. Ozzie looks real bad for letting his son run his mouth off and not having a handle on locker room sanctity. Oney had no business knowing about or talking about Jenks' personal problems. This is a mess.
