All good points, but Haren still would have been good in pinstripes. He really didn't give up any more HRs in Arizona than he did on the road. Maybe he wasn't the best fit in the world, but he would have easily been their #2. Beckett isn't the best fit for the Sox for similar reasons and Haren is much, much better than him.

On the other hand, you might have been able to trade less value for Haren while his ERA was inflated. We'll never know now.

Definitely. Didn't mean to make a mountain out of a molehill here. Just antsy for the season to start. Arguing over meaningless things helps pass the time.

Not really. A corner outfielder/DH who barely outperforms a shortstop isn't exactly something to brag about. Besides, while Jeter isn't a great shortstop, he's far from atrocious. And 151 games at shortstop is considerably more demanding than 33 games in left and 4 in center.

I'll concede that point. If Smoak and Saunders flame out, they might look to rebuild in 2012. Don't forget about Ackley, too. I believe they're planning on moving Figgins to third this season. Ackley will be up by May, if not sooner.

If you're going to gut the farm system over someone, Felix would be the guy. And while it is true that the Mariners desperately need hitting, I just don't see them being sellers with a young generational talent like him.

Howard has already been in what, three contests? Completely different. And you'll recall that LeBron said he was going to do it and then backed out. True, no one likes to be dunked on, but trying to cover it up only made LeBron look insecure about his image.

Agreed, last year was soooo forgettable. Griffin is a slam dunk to win it, so to speak. And I just thought of two additional reasons why I dislike LeBron: 12. He refuses to be in a slam dunk contest, despite how much the fans (including myself) would like to see him in it. He even guaranteed he would do it a few years ago. Again, he's a pussy. 13. Anyone else remember when he tried to cover up the video of him being dunked on in high school. Tsk, tsk. Concerned about your image much?

Wow, finally this thread gets some love. Yeah, I didn't include Ankiel because he is no longer a pitcher. And while Hampton is still hanging around, he doesn't really play anymore. I originally had Dan Haren in the 8th hole instead of Marquis, but at the time he hadn't been drafted yet in our league, so I didn't want to give anyone any ideas. Paranoid, I know.
