  1. They're also interested in JD Martinez.
  2. I have almost 0 confidence in that rotation. Paxton and Sale over/under 20.5 starts combined this season?
  3. What would be the basis for vetoing the deal? How would that be any worse than the ridiculous deferred money deals some teams do? Chris Davis is getting paid by Orioles for like 20 more years
  4. Sad is one word. It pisses me off.
  5. There was rumors they were asking multiple shortstops if they’d consider moving to 1B or 3B.
  6. Red Sox offer is reported to be under $200 million and wasn't even competitive, even after "ramping up" negotiations.
  7. This is true, but most guys also don’t have that good of a stretch between the ages of 31-38. Beltre was a special player
  8. Passan: Yoshida, 29, is an on-base machine who led Nippon Professional Baseball in OPS the last two seasons. His bat-to-ball skills are absolutely world-class: just 41 strikeouts in 508 plate appearances, with 80 walks. Only Luis Arraez had a lower strikeout rate in MLB last season.
  9. Passan: Masataka Yoshida's deal with the Boston Red Sox will be for five years and more than $85 million, sources tell ESPN. The posting fee for the Orix Buffaloes will be in the $15 million range, bringing the total outlay for Yoshida to around $100 million.
  10. BREAKING: Outfielder Masataka Yoshida and the Boston Red Sox are in agreement on a contract, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN. Per Jeff Passan
  11. Beltre was also a hall of fame talent who was perennial gold glover. Even if his bat regressed he would still provide value. For every Adrian Beltre that rebuilds his value, there is multiple Grady Sizemores..
  12. Agree about Kepler. I like him less than Conforto
  13. I’m not sure he’ll actually catch lightning in a bottle and we’ve seen a lot of these 1 year deals be a waste with nothing to show. Conforto is going to be 30 and two years removed from game time and he wasn’t very good the last time he played.
  14. Yeah I’m not really getting the Conforto love. He’s turning 30, wasn’t good offensively in 2021 and isn’t a great defender at all.
  15. I would prefer at least one more decent middle relief guy, but definitely a step in right direction.
  16. He just officially signed a big deal with cardinals.
  17. Keep in mind, the source is Jon Heyman, who reported breaking news less than 24 hours ago of “Aaron Judge signing with Giants”
  18. Especially the Phillies
  19. Yeah I’m not mad at the signing. The bullpen definitely needed a legitimate proven guy, and Jansen is that, even with his age.
  20. It’s definitely an upgrade over majority of the current bullpen. I do worry about his age though. He is 35 now
  21. 2 years $32 million Per Passan
  22. Sounds like they offered more for Turner also
  23. Good for him. He was very solid player and great in the clubhouse. Definitely enjoyed having him in Boston
  24. Sounds like Diamondbacks of all teams are now favorites for Xander
