  1. 15-3, but it's still pure domination.
  2. That's what I got off ESPNEWS today. I figured since it pertains to an East Coast team, it would be reliable.
  3. It's official. The Celtics dumped Telfair today.
  4. For all the Dodger fans pissed off at him leaving for more money, what were THEY thinking?
  5. Denver beat Seattle in 1994 and New York beat Miami in 1999. I think that's about it.
  6. The Warriors have snapped their 13-year playoff drought. The longest current drought belongs to the Atlanta Hawks, who haven't been to the postseason since 1999.
  7. Playoff matchups: Dallas vs Golden State Phoenix vs LA Lakers San Antonio vs Denver Houston vs Utah Detroit vs Orlando Cleveland vs Washington Toronto vs New Jersey Chicago vs Miami
  8. 3 ER in 17 1/3 IP for an ERA of 1.56. Not bad. Is it enough to put him on the DL?
  9. Buehrle becomes the first Pale Hose pitcher to throw a no-hitter since the "great" Wilson Alvarez did it in his second career start back in 1991.
  10. I saw an article in the LA Times a couple of seasons ago on pitch counts. Nolan Ryan threw 13 innings and 235 pitches and he didn't get the win. Luis Tiant threw 14 1/3 innings, and although his pitch count wasn't recorded, it's impossible for anyone now to throw that many pitches in a game. Here's the link. http://www.cincypost.com/2004/06/15/base06-15-2004.html
  11. He had 98 pitches after 9 and he got two quick outs on four pitches in the 10th. Had the game been extended to the 11th, it's likely he would have gone out again.
  12. Carrasco has 72 pitches in 3 innings. I think the Sox are due for a big inning in the bottom frame.
  13. Colorado scares me more than SF. Arizona isn't doing too bad, either.
  14. Technically, his last name (by Western standards) is Yi. No one refers to Yao as "Ming." That's his first name.
  15. Even so, Jason Varitek is not a homegrown Red Sox player. Good call on the immortal Bubba Crosby trade. That was the year we had s***** hitting and employed the likes of Larry Barnes, Jolbert Cabrera, Mike Kinkade, Ron Coomer, Wilkin Ruan, and former top prospect Joe Thurston (is he still in the Yankees' system?)
  16. Tanyon Sturtze and Kevin Brown were the only pitchers sent from LA to New York. I'm pretty sure Varitek went to Boston in the Heathcliff Slocumb trade.
  17. Flaming machetes. What will they think of next?
  18. That's the thing. Good centers are harder to find than good guards.
  19. Look at each player by position: C: Molina/Napoli 1B: Morales/Hillenbrand 2B: Kendrick SS: Cabrera 3B: Izturis LF: Anderson/Rivera CF: Matthews RF: Guerrero DH: Hillenbrand Not really impressed by their lineup. Vlad is the only one that can hit consistently, and Matthews was their only major pickup, and there's the HGH thing that will hang over his head all season long. Their infield has somewhat good D (unless Figgins is playing 3rd), but if they're going to make a postseason run, they'll have to rely on their pitching. Colon (who's in his contract year), Santana, Escobar, Weaver, and Lackey are an okay starting five, but it's a tall order for Weaver to replicate his 2006 season. Like I said before, Colon is the X-factor. Unless they play the Red Sox in the playoffs, the Angels might be poised to make a run, provided they manage to hold off the A's.
  20. We all heard this kind of talk when Syracuse won it all back in 2003. Carmelo said that one should go to college for four years and then he declared for the draft. In any case, you'd have to be insane to believe that Oden won't declare himself for the draft this summer. Same with OJ Mayo next year.
  21. Notre Dame losing today = beautiful. The 8-9 matchups are killing my bracket. I'm hoping the U of A wins today to salvage my bracket.
  22. He also banned Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle. And he also didn't want the Yankees to attend Thurman Munson's funeral.
  23. Their leading scorer is black. Gerald Henderson was an often-used freshman.
